This is my own deck and was my first deck, but has gone through countless upgrades and changes over time.

The basic idea is to use cards like Counterspell, Mana Leak, and Vapor Snag to keep the field clear and prevent your opponent from doing any damage to you. Use cards such as Lightning Bolt, Lightning Strike, Searing Blood , and Thunderous Wrath to do damage to their life. Use Ponder to help keep cards in your hand and to help to only play Thunderous Wrath for it's miracle cost. Once you have a decent sized graveyard filled with the instant and sorcery cards, Spellheart Chimera becomes the main weapon of this deck. Keep some sort of counter target spell card in hand to keep the chimera on the field and Skullcrack helps in that it keeps the opponent from preventing any damage you do with the chimera and also burns them for 3 damage.

I am looking for ideas to make it better (faster, more damage, more balance, etc) or making it into a modern legal deck with good replacements for Ponder or Counterspell.
