I think it would make more sense to take out the three Legion Loyalist to three Vexing Devil

He is never too big of a drop, hes great! but i suggest only three, if you have the cash thundermaw hellkite is soo OP. im not sure of madcap skills, or the boros elite, but for regular play it should be ok. I have mixed feelings over vexing devil, i relaly do, maybe stromkirk noble?

Ture, i was playing today and the deck vs other standard decks is great. the momentum and the two madcaps work very well. i added 2 Oblivion Ring and plus the Searing Spear in there make the control really good, and the swings with indestructible thanks to Frontline Medic with the help of 4 Lightning Mauler i am able to full swing with indestructible every turn since everyone that comes in has haste. i just feel like Hellrider is good but in another deck i would make his drop is just far too big for my deck.

Side note, i got a chance to aquire some Stuffy Doll today so i am going to try for that Stuffy Doll + Boros Reckoner combination. should be interesting haha

Also being that i did make the final changes today, i literally only have one Legion Loyalist so replacing him for a Vexing Devil would work? or no? because i do have one, might as well put a one drop for 4 damage. or a 4/3 creature. right?

i would add Stromkirk Noble but the pump up for Champion of the Parish today proved vital, when i pumped him to a whopping 6 plus madcap for 8 then pair him with Silverblade Paladin and swing for 16 just with him alone. indestructible also.

Blasphemous Act is a good finisher when playing against the mirror.

However, make sure you have a Boros Reckoner on your side of the field before you cast it :3

Another great card I cant share enough with people is Thatcher Revolt. Not only does it trigger all of your battalion, give counters to Champion of the Parish, and make Hellrider hit harder... but it can allow you to win on turn 3 ;D

And just fyi, not to be a bitch, but this deck has already been played and built since gatcrash came out. So i do not think you can call it "sealed and your own."

ahhh well didn't know i literally started playing magic this year haha i am not sure about tours, and others who play this deck. --- I was actually thinking about adding Blasphemous Act it is a really good card when the time calls for it. As for Thatcher Revolt i can definitely put that in place of.. 2 mad caps and my 1 legion now. I chose to take out the hellriders because it was just too big of a drop . yes he is good but its just too big :( So far playing against others with this all types of standard decks it has come the victor. Field wipe protected, the control with O-rings and searing spear proves to be annoying for other decks that need creatures for ability or aggro.

need Blind Obedience for side deck also. thanks for the input with Thatcher Revolt ! Vos_Is_Boss

if you really like frontline medic keep him, but my suggestion is 3x hellrider and 1x thundermaw hellkite. < that deck build breaks the game.

i managed to get 2 Thundermaw Hellkite and 4 Blasphemous Act what do you think of the group composition now? -- should i drop 2 Blasphemous Act for 2 Oblivion Ring for a little added control? or is it good? -- as for Hellrider it is not possible right now to acquire and even so i can't add the 3x and 1x hellmaw and hellrider because it reduces my tribal theme of humans. -- i think the 2 Thundermaw Hellkite is good enough and a fair trade i took out one Boros Elite sev968

I understand you are thinking of keeping to a theme, and that is good and well, but champion of the parish is supposed to cut off after a 3/3 turn 1 champ>2 mauler >3 silverblade>4 hellrider>5 thundermaw thats what would happen in a perfect world. lol that would have been such a great game

Your deck looks alot more solid though! great work! 4 blasphemous acts if you are sure, but i would hardly risk 2. have you ever thought of harvest pyre? xDDD its a single hit blas act thatll deal major damage for your own grave hate

haha thanks!! - yea true but parish gets pumped to a 6/6 when i play since boros elite, plus another parish plus mauler and blade pump him up so quickly =-- Another thing is that blasphemous act + Boros reckoner + indestructible on my side haha, 26 damage right there if there are two out on the field. i just love that none of my creatures can be countered also. this deck is just fun real fun!

Gonna be honest, some of the most fun I've had with this style of deck is an Inquisitor's Flail . With all of the indestructibilty and Boros Reckoner , it can get really crazy really fast, even if it does just double combat and not damage off your Blasphemous Act .

gave your deck a couple of playtests against my own boros, built for casual/modern play. Our decks were pretty evenly matched, would enjoy to come across this down at my shop, fun games.

Assemble the Legion. Then Kill People.

In the last playtest, i won just barely with a chain reaction explosion causing havoc on both our reckoners. lawl.

I like the re-work. I noticed you took out a lot of the battalion mechanics on your guys, it will make your deck slower, but you will not need Thatcher Revolt as much. So i think what you are doing here is correct. Good work :)

March 26, 2013 9:45 a.m.

paololol says... #22

Yea sadly i had to take out Boros Elite i mean she was good but only 1/1 without the batallion doesn't look too good. and in your opinion for Thatcher Revolt what would you take out for it? -- or is it something to sideboard. i see its power paired with Champion of the Parish

and thanks! it took me a little over a month getting trades and buying the lands, and getting the Hellrider 's and Thundermaw Hellkite 's haha it was an arduous task.Vos_Is_Boss

Vos_Is_Boss says... #23

Well, Thatcher Revolt is good in, lets say The Kessig Township where it can provide a turn 3 win. However, if you do not have the battalion from Boros Elite , or Champion of the Parish out every time. Its not going to do a whole lot. By itself, Thatcher Revolt is particularly weak. With those two cards... and a Mayor of Avabruck  Flip ... the card is one of the most powerful finishers in the game.

So in this deck, you do not need Thatcher Revolt anymore.

Good points Vos_Is_Boss i think the deck right now is a force to be reckoned with. so far at my FNM in the city (i play at Monstasy gaming comics in manhattan 5th avenue ) and i have yet to lose, of course the only times i can actually say i lost was to a mana flood with 6 mountains / plains in a row.

I have a question for you, Say i put down one caverns of souls, i say humans correct? and then i put another Caverns down.. do all caverns of souls count as humans now? -- i know this must be a stupid question but ever since i've had these cards it seems to me that each one should dedicate their own type. or am i asking too much . OP much? haha

March 26, 2013 10:05 a.m.

Vos_Is_Boss says... #25

Each Cavern of Souls needs to call out a creature type when played.

Lets say you have a Silverblade Paladin in your hand. It costs 1WW, and all you have is a mountain, but two Cavern of Souls in hand. Playing the first one, you'd need to call human, and playing the second one, you'd need to call human again. That way, they can each tap white for your Silverblade Paladin .

However... This really sucks for a deck like yours... because now you wont be able to cast Boros Reckoner until you drop two more lands. You need to be careful when over-using Cavern of Souls because it can be a burden.

So.. what you COULD do, is call Human on that early Cavern of Souls to get your little guys out fast enough, but then call out Dragon or Devil or Wizard when you NEED it. Always save your Cavern of Souls until the turn you need it.
