An Abzan Company deck revolving around Vizier of Remedies rather than Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit and Melira, Sylvok Outcast. The use of Vizier allows the deck to go infinite with Devoted Druid on turn 3 for infinite green mana. Since Vizier has less devotion than Anafenza, she is also easier to cast. We run the classic Kitchen Finks
+
Viscera Seer
combo with our Vizier for redundancy, allowing us to scry into our combo pieces and gain infinite life.
Viscera Seer can also be used with our many mana dorks to scry fairly deep even without going infinite. This process is helped by our Eternal Witnesses.
We use our infinite mana from Devoted Druid + Vizier of Remedies
to tutor for Duskwatch Recruiter
or
Jade Mage
. From there we either draw all our creatures using Duskwatch Recruiter and cast a lethal Walking Ballista, or go infinitely wide with Jade Mage and win the next turn.
Jade Mage is a questionable card on its own, but it satisfies a surprisingly niche role by being a valid Chord and CoCo target and giving an instant speed mana sink that isn't shut down by Leyline of Sanctity like Walking Ballista. She is, however, vulnerable to boardwipes since unlike Ballista she forces us to wait until our next turn to swing unless we tutored for her at the end of our opponent's turn.
As for the Ballista plan, we can tutor it out using Chord of Calling or Collected Company like any of our other combo pieces, but it will go to the graveyard because it will have 0 counters on it. From there, we will need to use Eternal Witness to return it to our hand.
The sideboard contains general hate cards for various matchups and an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn as another Chord or Command target in certain matchups. She's good against control decks because she's uncounterable and unremovable, and she protects the cards in our graveyard by shuffling them back in. She's also the most fun way to surprise those random U-Mill decks that turn up once in a blue moon. We have Primal Command as a general utility spell and an excellent counter against burn decks (shut down their draw and gain 7 life is pretty hard for burn to overcome), as well as an extra tutor that doesn't send our Ballista to the graveyard should the opponent be running Rest in Peace or other hate.
