As a replacement for Damnation , u could try Mutilate . By turn 4 u would kill anything with 4 or less toughness, good right?

That is a good thought, I had forgotten about that card, wonder if I have a few of those still... I like black sun, but I think for just wiping the board Mutilate would be way better (and cost less).

Yeah exactly, glad I could help :D Do you play much standard?

Less recently, but I used too.

There's always Duress or Inquisition of Kozilek

The inquisition is a bit pricey, but far less so than Thoughtseize Plus, it does hit most of the major cards in Modern that aren't an Eldrazi or monster card draw demon.

Something else to keep in mind when you're building your sideboard is decks that are creature-light. You're going to run into a lot of headaches and hands full of removal at least a few times. An almost transformative board can help with that.

Yeah, this deck will do well against creature decks (ie. Zoo) and creature-combo decks (ie. Infect, splinter twin, fairies), but it is gonna have a real bad time against stuff like tron, so the board will need to deal with that, not sure how to deal with tron though, gonna be watching the pro tour to see what does well though, and to see popular sideboard stuff. Duress is nice, and I'll probably have to run them for now, but I do want to get Inquisition or Thoughtseize at some point.

Personally, instead of Sign in Blood I would put in Read the Bones . it has to wait a turn longer, but it helps you find the cards you need with the scry

The scry is nice, but the ability to have some reach in MonoB along with the lower CMC is more than enough reason to keep Sign in Blood

Feast of Blood would go fantastic in this deck!

CardMinnow says... #10

The only real problem I have with Feast of Blood is that it's a sorcery, if it said instant (beyond being broken as all hell) I would be running 4x, but, as it sits right now, I can't see running it over anything that is already there. That said, I love that card so much, and it was in an older version of this deck.

Hi, maybe you can check mi deck for some ideas about vampires Sorin, stop making vampires!

some ideas:

Consuming Vapors

Bloodghast

I like the idea of having Bloodghast s in this deck, but I don't have any right now, I'm not sure where I'd put them either. Consuming Vapors is an interesting idea, but it is a 4 cost sorcery, which makes it kinda hard to play, I love the rebound mechanic but I don't think it makes it worth being a sorcery.

When you have a lot of creature removal (like you) the "rebound" works nice if your opponent don't have any creature, he's not going to play any other creature because you can "rebound" and make him sacrifice another so you make him loose a turn (+summoning sickness). I use it a lot in a black control deck, add the fact you also gain life for it, but is your choice, I like your deck :)

Maybe Lightning Greaves for Bloodline Keeper  Flip

Hmm, I'll keep it in mind for the sideboard (once I actually build one...) it does seem like it would work out well against some of the hexproof decks that were floating around a while back, and might even be a good choice against pod decks, I'll test it out a bit and see what happens.

I think Tribute to Hunger would be better than Consuming Vapors

1 mana more for a "double kill" the problem is that is a sorcery but... use Consuming Vapors + Tragic Slip Amazing combo removal

March 5, 2014 11:42 a.m.

CardMinnow says... #17

@LtMiller117 I'm actually already running a couple, I love the spell thematically more than practically though, it may be replaced by Geth's Verdict when I fin a couple more in this pile of cards.

@Jmolinaa Yeah, it works, but so does Geth's Verdict + Tragic Slip So why settle for a sorcery that costs 2 more? Rebound is cool, but a lot of the time it won't wit anything, especially if I go for the double kill combo, Modern seems to have less creatures on the field than Standard, but those creatures normally are bad for the opponent.

Jmolinaa says... #18

Yeah im going to change 4 Consuming Vapors for 4 Geth's Verdict on my deck so I can check what goes better :)

Fetch lands are obvious for improvement, but maybe a red splash for Falkenrath Aristocrat , Stromkirk Captain , and Olivia Voldaren .

March 12, 2014 5:05 p.m.

CardMinnow says... #20

I could splash red, but I feel like it would weaken the deck a bit, those are all powerful cards, but than I have to cut cards that are already there, and I'm not sure what I would cut to put those creatures in. The creatures I'm running all serve a role, Bloodline Keeper  Flip being the only one that I'm not super thrilled about (and even he combos pretty well with Blood Artist ), I suppose I could cut him for Olivia Voldaren but I don't think I want to splash red for one creature. Now, fetch lands, I've been told this before, and I still don't get it, it makes sense if I wanted to splash red, but if I'm staying with a mono-colored deck, why would I run fetch lands? It hurts me, and finds a swamp, which I already have plenty of (in theory).

juicytoot says... #21

The fetch lands in a mono-colored deck are basically for deck thinning and ensuring a higher percentage of non-land draws when they become unnecessary.
