Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
. You cheat him into play using Deathrender attached to a useless creature that can sac itself, such as an eldrazi spawn token from
Nest Invader
. I've been using this deck with a slightly different decklist for years, but it needed an update. The metagame in my previous playgroup didn't include a lot of enchantment answers to Emrakul, and now it does, so I've added Naturalize to solve that issue.
This deck also used to have a different flavour when when I didn't care if it was modern-legal. It included Dark Ritual, and the perfect order went like this:
Turn 1: Forest, Joraga Treespeaker
Turn 2: Swamp, tap both lands to level-up the Treespeaker, then tap it to play
Nest Invader
Turn 3: Swamp or Forest, Tap all 3 land, use the black for Dark Ritual, then add 2 from the Treespeaker for a total of 7, then play Deathrender for 4, use 2 more to equip to the Eldrazi Spawn from the Nest Invader, then sac the spawn (adding one more to your mana pool) to put Emrakul, the Aeons Torn from your hand into play. Then, throw down a Lightning Greaves with the remaining 2 mana and equip it to Emrakul for 0 for the added flare of swinging with a 17/17 flying, annihilator 6 on turn 3.
Obviously, this rarely ever happens and needs non-modern-legal cards to do it, and so I would like to make it more consistent and close to this fast as possible all while being modern-legal. This current formulation was the best I could come up with. Any help in this specific regard would be greatly appreciated, and thank you so much for the comments!
