Human Frailty Hits most aggro threats and triggers Tragic Slip . So I think its staying in the mainboard as a 1 cmc kill spell at instant speed

Drop: Victim of Night , Essence Scatter , Deathpact Angel , Human Frailty ,Psychic Strike and 1x Obzedat, Ghost Council , for: 3x Syncopate , 3x Tribute to Hunger , 3x Detention Sphere , 2x card:Sphinx's Revelation and 3x Talrand, Sky Summoner ... +1!

Then answer to your suggestions is no. All those cards are way too valuable to the deck. The deck also runs smoothly. Psychic Strike is 10x better than Syncopate Tribute is too expensive and the deck would get stomped all over by aggro. Have you paytested? Are there any specific reasons for the changes? Also what do you guys think of Augur of Bolas . Thanks to Goody for the suggestion I'm just not 100% sure whether I should play it or not.

Yes, I playtested, and the reason I made the suggestions were for the fact that this deck is only made for Aggro and Control just stomps this deck to death. I am playing Esper Control and my deck was running circles around this one for the fact that your Counterspells are way to focused on one specific function...

... I just playtested against your deck and am dropping a +1 but the way i played it stopped your deck from taking the win. My local meta i pretty much all aggro and midrange which this deck just stomps. But I will be running a sideboard to play against conrol and some of your suggestions will probably make the sb.
February 17, 2013 9:23 p.m.
Well if your meta runs a lot of hmans then I guess you might as well keep it mainboard. Augur of Bolas is neat, I'm sure it'll serve you well. Not sure how attached you are to Lingering Souls but if it's just for chump blocking, then I'd replace a couple of those.

No it is a wincon in decks that don't have answers to flyers and if my draws are inconsistent then i am bound to draw a threat and if I am not they are control cards

First off 1+ for the deck name I really like it. I am not to fond of running 4 Obzedat, Ghost Council simply because when I play tested it I ran into a few games were he was just a dead card in hand. I am a fan of Augur of Bolas and would suggest taking out 1 to 2 Obzedat, Ghost Council and maybe a Lingering Souls and instead putting in 3 Augur of Bolas .

You're saying that Tribute to Hunger is too slow, but then you're running Psychic Strike and not Syncopate ? Psychic Strike isn't 10x better than Syncopate , Syncopate hits a turn earlier which is essential for stopping 2-drops, assuming you're on the play. I know one of my decks revolves around Blood Artist and gets completely shut down by turn 2 Syncopate . If you really wanted to stop aggro decks, you'd run Syncopate , not Psychic Strike .

I want to stop aggro, which is kind-of workig right nw, but without faltering against control. Psychic Strike Allows me to play something in thr later game without worrying about what aggro topdecks. I am debating Syncopate Along side Psychic Strike but it wil not replace it.

Do you actually take this to FNM? Because if you do and your meta ISNT B/R Zombies and Bant/Esper Mid-Ranges, I'm moving to your area because this deck dies to anything besides boros and naya, the only good removal you have is Slip and even that really needs something else to die for it to be a big deal, so I am sorry but I dont see this being competitive enough, it is way too focused, and where you always want to know what you are trying to do, this deck has one thing and that is shutting down humans, which is neat and all, but there is no way in hell every deck you face is human tribal xD

Thanks for pretty much describing my meta. Also the deck seems to be beating just about everything so far besides a few esper mirrors. And yes, there are non-human stragglers and thats why the sideboard will be based around defending against zombies and midrange. If you have any suggestions for sideboard cards then I would love to hear them.

How would you deal with a wipe-control set? I've playtested a couple of times against my deck If you like it than I'm going to put a ring on it and Supreme Verdict seems to leave you wishing for some other answer. Obzedat, Ghost Council is nice, but when I side in Urgent Exorcism and Nevermore I really don't see your game plan. Maybe try something like Sands of Delirium and Jace, Memory Adept as a win condition that works well with Psychic Strike and isn't hit by verdict or terminus?

I like this deck a lot despite what others have said. My only recommendation is to take out [Psychic Strike] since you are not really focused on mill. There are better counters available than [Psychic Strike]. Mainly, [Syncopate] comes to mind. It's just not good enough if it's not in a mill deck.
You could definitely use a [Jace, Memory Adept] or and I would strongly recommend Ultimate Price in your sideboard to sideboard out [Victim of Night] against vampires, werewolves, or zombies.

@ RedNova700 Thank you, I have debated Dissipate over Psychic Strike and maybe Syncopate as well. I am currently still constructing the sideboard and Ultimate Price will be in there but it is still in construction and any suggestions as to cards to go in there are greatly appreciated

Personally, I would recommend:
+1 Snapcaster Mage+2 Lingering Souls
Delver of Secrets Flip doesn't really cohere with the deck very well, since he is a very aggressive card in a control deck, Snapcaster Mage helps with recursion, and having a third is never usually bad, and 4x Lingering Souls increases the possibility to draw it (obviously lol) and can actually be a win con if you control well enough.
+1 Though, it is a very nice deck :)

I would normally agree with you but I have come to love my fine Delving Friend for many reasons.
1) He eats Removal; 2) Orzhov Charm is a card!; 3) Can come in swinging and leave a threat for aggro decks; 4) He can block Hellrider; 5) He's a T1; 6) Um.... It's Delver!;
On a final note I do not have the current resources for 3 Snapcasters let alone 2 and Souls is great but is normally a dead draw when I am trying to maintain boardstate. WHile this deck is very controlly, it is important to play it like a midrange deck. This does not mean mindlessly dropping Obzedat on t5, but that its primary goal is to win by 10ish but still has the flexibility to hold back till late game and still pull in strong.

I love Esper, a way to stall Naya humans could be Blind Obedience. I play a similar deck at tournaments and run 4 copies of the card. It stops haste, and provides a constant source of life gain. If you can get your hands of a couple copies, I would highly recommend using this card.

Could always add in Killing Wave because aside from your Obzedat's you can afford to sacrifice your creatures and you'll probably gain enough life with Obzedat to afford the cost of what you want to keep.

I've tried Killing Wave in many a decks but it never seems to do well. I am seriously considering Mutilate however.

Personally, I really like Dimir Charm. As odd as it may sound, it kills many of the most relevant aggro guys in standard, especially Huntmaster of the Fells Flip who is a very difficult monster for control to recover from.

Dimir Charm on Huntmaster of the Fells Flip is one of my favorite things. I agree, Dimir Charm is actually good, i don't understand why people dont see it.
Try it out, its applications are actually relevant.
Goody says... #1
You really shouldn't run Human Frailty mainboard. For early aggro you can try Augur of Bolas or Fog Bank or something.
