I don't really see the 2x Negate coming in handy that often. Perhaps you should implement some draw engines through means of Bident of Thassa or Jace, Architect of Thought .

I am officially in love with this deck I am trading a voice of resurgence and a brimaz to get this deck

Instead of negate I would throw in aques form, due to your revenue you are able hire the top lawyers who find al sorts of loop holes

The2ndHorseman I'm glad you're a fan, but before you trade away those very valuable cards, consider some budget options like Arrest , Soul Tithe , and Dawnbringer Charioteers instead of Heliod. Use guildgates instead of shocks, and maybe that way you can keep your valuable cards!

The Doctor- Right now I'm testing to see if 2x Main Negate can help me stick the big guys against control. I might put them in the Side to make room for Bident of Thassa . It's not my favorite draw engine, but it is an enchantment, and I could use it in conjunction with Oppressive Rays to FORCE the opponent to spend mana on their turn and attack... oh that sounds miserable for them and I love it!

Aqueous Form add that and I have calculated wher you can swing for twenty unblock able by turn fiveT1:landT2:land+Nyx-Fleece Ram T3:Ethereal Armor x2T4:bestow Eidolon of Countless Battles T4:bestow Eidolon of Countless Battles + Aqueous Form I am going to get rid of the voice because I am not running selesnya anymore

This deck isn't trying to do that. I love that card, and I've used it in other decks, but taking this mid-range deck and trying to force it to be aggro means I would have to remove the cards that help the deck the most. Have you run into mana problems at all? In some test runs I find I don't get the mana I need. Any thoughts?

Awesome deck, want to playtest it, but I would have to make a few changes.

I try to keep a strict budget on how much I spend on MTG a month, and since I already most of these cards....

The only thing I would really do is -2 Detention Sphere for +2 Arrest . Sometimes keeping them on the board but helpless is a good thing. Like Master of the Feast . If you Arrest him instead of exiling, they have an all but useless card while you keep getting the draw from it.

Also, -1 Heliod, God of the Sun for +1 Ephara, God of the Polis . Fun combo with Heliod's Cleric ability and AEtherling 's exile ability, plus it looks like you could easily have her devotion. Having 2 Gods out instead of 1 is always better.

I also have to ask how you solve the problems of Blood Baron and that damned Dragon (You know the one.) I don't see any of the usual Rapid Hybridization or Celestial Flare solutions I usually do.

Again, if I could I would keep it as it is before offering my suggestions, but I have the cards already and I don't have the budget to buy another $10+ God, and 2 more $5 Spheres in addition to buying the Nyx cards I want.

Sideboard and sphere of safety are what stop baron and dragon.

Love this deck, now we need to make one that works with Assemble the Legion .

Just splash red and replace the Negate with it.

Play tested this and had an insane amount of fun. Opponents didn't though and usually had resigned looks on their face before I even got the Sphere of Safety out. Some of them folded then and there, and the rest did after I got two of them on the board.

Won 3 matches, lost 2. One was a combo deck with Legion's Initiative + Fanatic of Mogis / Purphoros, God of the Forge . Didn't have to attack me at all when he could just exile all his creatures and bring them back to kill me. Just never got Banishing Light or Detention Sphere to get rid of it.

Another was a mono-black deck. I won the first one easily, lost the second to Gray Merchant of Asphodel + Whip of Erebos , and lost the third after having gone 5 turns with only 2 mana on the board. Got to pacify all his creatures, but he had 2 Mutavault s.

Instead of Eidolon of Rhetoric put in Curse of Exhaustion .It is harder on the mana but not by much and it only limits your opponent. It also counts as an aura for--nevermind--I thought that you were running a few Kor Spiritdancer ...Instead of Rootborn Defenses put in Brave the Elements .I know that you have a few blue creatures in there but this is the equivalent of giving most of your creatures hexproof and indestructible for a turn.Instead of Pacifism I suggest Soul Tithe .It can enchant more than just creatures and it sort of works as a "counter spell." By that I mean it takes up their mana so they can't just ignore it and cast whatever they want. They have to make a choice: pay the cost (keeping the permanent for a turn) and not cast their Doom Blade , or lose their permanent and use their Apocalypse or more recently: Zombie Apocalypse . Also them paying the cost comes at the beginning of their upkeep, if they draw a card before paying the cost then basically they have to sac it because they (without knowing) refused to pay the (3). Also worth noting is that it dodges regenerate and indestructible.
