with cards like Bioshift and Zameck Guildmage you NEED to have undying creatures to reset the undying on them (imo). i recommend adding 2 Master Biomancer s and definitively the guildmage. Vorapede Strangleroot Geist Young Wolf . just something to think about :)

Thanks, I added 2x Strangleroot Geist , 2x Zameck Guildmage , and 2x Master Biomancer , and I took out some of my other cards.

This is epic. I was waiting to see what you would put together with simic and golgari and this looks painful to play against.

Haha thanks! :D

Hopefully my Gruul deck will be able to win earlier.

+1'd

I might have to try out the evolve + flicker combo. I like it a lot!

I was thinking possible shifting the two Spell ruptures for two bursts of strength, this allows you tap gyre sage for mana twice in one turn as well as refunding the mana cost of the cast, since you are running 4.

I just playtested that and it works great, thanks for the advice!

just making sure if you flicker hydra he comes back with 0 counters right? closet same deal?

February 4, 2013 7:34 p.m.

Good question, I'm actually not sure... I'll check on that. If so, I'll probably just remove card:Conjurer's Closet and Ghostly Flicker .

Mind play testing vs my vamp deck? It looks fun to play with and against. deck:this-aint-twilight. I also upvoted yours

If you flicker anything that has "pay x for +1/+1 counters for p/t,"and it starts at zero it will die :/ I've tried and I felt pretty dumb lol anyway +1 from me and check out my counter deck "jund counter nation" it's pretty awesome and might give you some ideas who knows . Good luck and remember they can bounce your creatures 0_0 back to your hand so protect them well.

Also I didn't see a sb so I would say 4x rangers guile 4x golgari charm should be a good start . Maybe Sheltering Word . Mizzium Skin as well.

I have a very simmilar deck but without the blue and some use of Scavenge. Since you already got the black I would consider Champion of Lambholt . that guy builds up pretty fast if you cast him in second turn or third. Also, card:Jarad's Orders is very nice with some Slitherhead to move to cemetery, so you can get the creatures you want when you want them with +1/+1 counter on it. It goes like a "search for any creature and put a +1/+1 (or +2/+2 if you got a Corpsejack Menace in the game) on any of your creatures". And when you just have strong enought creatures, Pit Fight can clean anoying creatures of the table so you can have the control of the battlefield. I think that Evolve has a limmit of grouth and maybe you should focus on creatures that can grow fast and without limit, like the Primordial Hydra but anyway, almost anything that guives counters combos greatly with Corpsejack Menace . If I had the budget for the shocklands I would add blue to my deck and use Fathom Mage , Master Biomancer and Prime Speaker Zegana no doubt! One last thing that you may like is Alpha Authority that guives some protection agains boardwipes or "destroys target creature", maybe it is interesting for your deck. Check mine if you have time! Maybe you can take some ideas like I took from yours! +1 vote!

PS: Hunger of the Howlpack + Pit Fight to take some dork creature out of game is a green mana +3/+3 and a remover, works greatly!

February 7, 2013 8:04 p.m.

Thank you so much for the suggestions, I will definitely be considering all of them (especially Pit Fight , Champion of Lambholt , and Hunger of the Howlpack ), as soon as I finish looking at your deck! :D

One thing I wonder about Pit Fight .. can I use it to make 2 of my own creatures fight? Like if you have a creature enchanted with Pacifism or something like that, it would be good for remove it or if you simply dont have enough power to kill opponent's creatures so you can combo with Tragic Slip or Hunger of the Howlpack ..

I think champion of lambholt is an amazing card but to slow on process without tokes being thrown out on the field excessivly hmm why not wild beast master instead ? Idk both might slow your deck and you have better creatures to worry about like primordial Hydra :)z IMO . Oh hunger of the howl pack and pit fight is a nice combo nice.

The point of Champion of Lambholt is not being the hitter but to make the creatures unblockable... when you need to finish the guy you just use a Increasing Savagery on the champion and that's it... probably he will have nothing stronger than 6/6, and, of course, if he does, not many creatures. But I agree that he is a bit slower.. good for creature decks. Wild Beastmaster is a piece of work. Immagine him all boosted with Alpha Authority haha just need to be carefull not to use all the counters on him and let other creatures deppendent of this single guy.

A good deffensive card would be card:Predator's Rapport.. immagine that with Primordial Hydra lol

Elusive Krasis is to slow for standard, IMO. Should be replaced by Strangleroot Geist .

Primordial Hydra is a poor win-con, again it is pretty slow. It is relying heavily on having the corpsejack to make it a game-ender, and even with corpsejack your opponent has usually got some time to deal with it. I feel you should replace this with something that will immediately affect the board state, like Thragtusk .

Instead of Corpsejack Menace , have you considered making this more of an undying/evolve exploit deck instead? Bioshift and Zameck Guildmage really combo nicely with both evolve and undying, and there is less of a reliance on one card (corpsejack) on making your deck really race. Experiment One could then fit in on your low curve.

If you do want to keep the +1 counter strategy, might I suggest Ooze Flux for some hilarious combo action? Corpsejack Menace + Primordial Hydra + Ooze Flux = ridiculous ooze swarm. Also not really standard competitive IMO (again, to slow), but hilarious.

Look out for Vorel of the Hull Clade in DGM ;)

Anyway I have always felt Master Biomancer works well for counter decks. I am no pro however, so you might know what you are doing better than I am.

April 10, 2013 10:39 p.m.

Oh yeah I totally forgt about the Biomancer! I'll try and fit him in. And I just saw Vorel, he fits so perfectly into this deck haha I can't wait for DGM!

Thanks!

there is a new card that got spoiled that is a 3/2 1GG evolve creature, and when he evoles put a 1/1 counter on any creature that has a 1/1 counter. with gyre sage and master biomancer in the mix you can have instant armys and card draw now in simic colors.

some exciting new things to look forward to in DGM. I can honestly say that this small set is going to have a huge impact on how fast you can combo now. Looking forward to new ways to own fast :)

April 12, 2013 8:11 p.m.

Yeah I saw that card earlier today, and I whole-heartedly agree, DGM should be an awesome set, both in general and with regards to my deck/Simic specifically!
