Have you considered Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord ?

Check out Varolz, the Scar-Striped from Dragon's Maze also.

I considered Jarad, but he doesn't really work in this deck. I saw Varolz too, I'm cautiously optimistic about whether he will work or not, I guess I'll have to wait for the official release of DGM to find out.

After playing with this deck for awhile, I came across a problem. It has been missing trample. I added in two Crowned Ceratok . There had been many instances where my creatures with 40/40 to 20/20 counters were getting chump-blocked by tokens.

I have a deck very similar to this but I don't use Golgari (used to)

them stalking elves

works extremely well for me and many people I play have a hard time against it xDIt may help with ideas.

I was thinking of the same idea and have been putting alot of time into tweaking it like your self. What I've done has stepped away from the aggro and the hydra's (It hurt so much to let that one go). I focused on removal with black Ultimate Price , and The reprint coming from DGM Putrefy , but I used 1 crowned ceratok and went with 3 Rancor , because I can always throw in on master biomancer and trample is great.

The reason I stepped away from hydras is because its super weak to alot of situations. Removal, its gonna get removed, no matter how much you try to protect that guy. Either you don't have the hexproof card in hand in time or counter spell and bam. Or lets say you do, there seems to be alot of board wipe lately. Also there have been a number of times I draw the hydra early, and It's just not enough 4 mana for a 2/2 and your in the hole preatty far and you know they have spot removal.

While simic charms are great, the odds of them having a bigger creature then you are rare, unsummon, while nice, your bigger than them still, and hexproof still nice, but I've tried to spread the deck out so it doesn't matter if you blow up one guy. Might be a side board card.

I use Golgari Charm , protects against some board wipe seeing how some can't be countered, or in the rare case they manage to kill something (Gruul and blood rush...) the -1/-1 can totally ruins some peoples days, and destroy enchanments, very useful with whats going on. Blind Obedience for example.

I agree with both the simic champ, and the renegade krasis from DGM. But maybe you could consider the golgari champ. While I have reserves on him, he could save you from some things like board wipe and its nice to have a source of counters.

Thanks for replying, I'll test it out with some of the changes either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. We'll see about removing the hydra... I agree that he is incredibly weak to removal but I really like the card. :( Anyways thanks for the help and lots of changes should happen with this deck in the next few weeks!
