- 4 land charbelcher combo. The theory is that your starting hand has enough mana to play a rock, then your mana situation is set.
- Bide your time, cast things like Golos, Tireless Pilgrim, Mana Severance, or Foresight to get rid of excess lands in your deck and tutor out Goblin Charbelcher.
- Tutors include Demonic Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, Fabricate, Reshape, Transmute Artifact, Whir of Invention, Vampiric Tutor, and Tezzeret the Seeker with his -x ability.
- Chose Golos b/c he searches for a land, so belcher works just a bit better. Usually only cast Golos if you dumped your entire hand of rocks early and need some card draw. His second essentially says draw 3, and usually if you are in this position, you have wubrg to do it.
- The average amount of mana per hand is 0.5 from testing.
- There is a ~45% chance to get at least 1 mana in your opening 7 from testing.
- There is a ~12% chance to get 2 mana in your opening 7 from testing.
- Including things to play there is ~25% chance for a good playable hand from testing.
- Look for any of the 4 lands, Mana Crypt, Elvish Spirit Guide, Simian Spirit Guide, Chrome Mox, and Lotus Petal as the free mana cards. I don't count Mox Opal because you need the 3 artifacts.
