Changes from testing: working to sure up the early game against faster decks. Disallow - as much as I love you... You are to expensive at all times to be viable. Metallic Rebuke gives us the late game flexibility to be cheaper without narrowing the targets to much. Hornswoggle, you too must make way for a less expensive staple with Essence Scatter. Back into action are Ruthless Knave and Dire Fleet Hoarder - stepping aside are 2 Torment of Hailfire and Prosperous Pirates.

lol sorry about that Argy. making you giggle wasnt my intention. i hope no-one saw, as at least for myself, when i giggle it sounds like a little school-girl. That being said, you seem like you got a brain on your shoulders. im currently working on a brew that id like your opinion on if you got the time. just message me and ill send you the link. ill take silence as the answer of an uninterested soul.

Tested against this Merfolk build.

Rivals of Ixalan Merfolk by Corbin Hosler

Merfolk won by Turn 6, with a key play being to Unsummon a Gleaming Barrier.

Will now Sideboard.

True dat.

Merfolk won on Turn 9.

With Sideboarding, because the first game was over so fast, I basically took out any cards that only paid off later in the game.

You might have Sideboarded differently.

OUT

2x Spell Swindle
1x Tezzeret the Schemer
2x Treasure Map  Flip

IN

1x Battle at the Bridge
2x Bontu's Last Reckoning
2x Lost Legacy

A pumped up and umblockable Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca won the game, so I might have been better off taking out all copies of Tezzeret the Schemer and adding some Sorcerous Spyglass.

This is a playtest you might want to do a few times yourself, now that you know what deck I was using.

Since it is aggro, and your deck takes a while to set itself up, I think this will probably provide the most problems for you.

I really wished I had an Essence Scatter in hand, instead of two Hornswoggle.
