I mostly play on MTGO and multi-player games.

Xenagos follows the simple and tired strategy of attacking with creates. If that is your style than I am sure you will enjoy this deck.

Aggro in EDH isn't easy to win with because as we all know you have to deal 120 damage spread out among three opponents. I know there are some builds that try to get infinite combat steps but I personally shy away from infinite combos as I like to play decks that are fun for my opponents too.

With that said, this deck still is very powerful and can win its fair share of games.

The basic rule of Xenagos is to always attack. His ability only helps you if you attack, so if you pass your attack phase you give up a lot of the decks power.

My selection of the creatures are based on some simple criteria;

  1. Is this a creature I am happy to draw? i.e. does the creature have some ability that is useful and/or can swing the game?

  2. Can the creature deliver the pain? i.e. does it have a way to damage my opponents? Or put another way, is this a creature my opponents need to worry about? Flying and trample is what I am looking for.

  3. If not 1 or 2, then does the creature fill a key utility role? i.e. fetch a land, mana dork, card drawing etc.

Some cards to highlight;

Chandra's Ignition can win a game by itself. Fling can also kill an opponent after you attack with one of the monsters.

Hydra Omnivore and Caller of the Pack can hit all your opponents at once...don't need to tell you how good that is.

Malignus of course can one shot someone if their door is open.

The deck has a lot draw and ramp to help get to smashing and keep on smashing. Also a dose of cards to deal with pesky artifacts and enchantments.

Feedback welcome!
