Might I suggest Atraxa, Praetors' Voice in the main deck.

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately Atraxa generates hate too quickly within my playgroup forcing me in to investing in a lot of protection for her. If I did that in this deck I'd be giving up to much value and not getting enough back from Atraxa.

Hey buddy... so I have my Blade of Selves math up on my deck description with the Algebra equations. Feel free to copy and paste if you'd like.

I'm scared to try to figure out Rite of Replication kicked with all the same scenarios I covered for Blade. To put it slightly in perspective... Doubling Season out with kicked Rite is 10 instances of 6 counters seen 110 times for 6600 counters that're doubled again to 13200 when Reyhan moves them (or 120 counters placed 110 times).

Thanks Pal. I will take you up on that offer.

Geez those numbers can get crazy fast. I did not realize just how explosive, Reyhan could be under optimal conditions. Such a better choice for +1/+1 counters than, Atraxa.

Ugh, my head hurts (I thought I liked math and was decent at it).

The above scenario is 1320 counters. 3 counters per Reyhan that're doubled to 6 on placement. 10 dying Reyhan x 6 counters each is 60 seen by 11 Reyhans = 660 then doubled again when Reyhan moves them = 1320.

I tried to combine 2 ways of figuring it out and ended up multiplying by 10 one too many times. 10 dying Reyhan x 11 Reyhans = 110 instances of 6 counters each (Reyhan's 3 doubled on placement) = 660 then doubled again on moving. 660x2=1320

I guess my initial reaction of 'I'm scared' was the right call.

Haha good that you corrected yourself! I got to the Rite of Replication + doubling season combo myself plenty of times. The numbers are burned in my head, 13200 is a bit too ambitious.

For my own sake I once made a cheat sheet of all the 3 piece combo's myself.

And every time i pull a kicked Rite of Replication off, even without doubling season, everyone's jaw just drops the floor.

Hey, this will help clean up your deck description so the math doesn't take up as much space (check my reyhan deck description for an example). https://tappedout.net/mtg-forum/coding/how-do-i-add-drop-downs/

Thanks Pal. I’ll be taking a look at that over the weekend. Really looks nice and clean.

I need some help.

I’m at an impasse. I just can not settle on what cards should take up the last four open slots I have in this deck.

I have gone back and forth on several but don’t end up feeling as though they were the correct choices.

I could really use some card suggestions keeping in mind I’d like to keep the CMC of non creature cards to three or less just so they aren’t turned off by Gaddock Teeg .

Toxic Deluge is a good boardwipe that gets around Gaddock Teeg. Maybe that?

That is actually really good. I have one in my Teysa deck. A board wipe that gets around Gaddock Teeg , yes please.

Karn's Bastion is a land I love to run. 4 mana available, proliferate before it becomes your turn. I've found, at times, that being able to proliferate at instant speed, is occasionally way better than just at the end step with Atraxa, Praetors' Voice

Evolution Sage is another option for continuously adding counters to abuse Reyhans ability more

I'd get rid of Ajani's Welcome , Ordeal of Nylea , Ordeal of Thassa , Bloodcrazed Hoplite , and Grateful Apparition .

Ajani's Welcome is extremely slow. It's a okay turn 1 play, but in a 99 singleton card deck, you never consistently get this out turn 1. Gaining 1 life is awesome for triggers, but is extremely slow when you consider you are starting out with 40 life already. I personally feel it's a dud card and will never ever be the card that "put you so far ahead".

Ordeal of Thassa is better off a Brainstorm . Its 1 less mana, instant speed and gains you 1 more card to look at.

Ordeal of Nylea I kinda like, but I personally would just run a Kodama's Reach or Cultivate

Bloodcrazed Hoplite I am not a fan of in this deck. 100% of the time, you are going to wish it was a Sage of Hours and are going to want to put counters onto other creatures. I personally prefer Servant of the Scale as it doubles the amount of counters put from servant to x creature.

Grateful Apparition is straight up better as the OG Atraxa, Praetors' Voice . A 1/1 flying body is quite useless, and I've found it's often a wasted 2 mana and never the card you want to top deck. Atraxa atleast garuntees a proliferate and let's not forget that a 4/4 flying, vigilance, lifelink, death touch for 4 is extremely viable and offers lots of protection. I play the card as often as I can because it's a 'must remove' creature and that's useful for stripping your opponents of answers.

Some stuff I agree with and have gone ahead and changed but I do disagree with your views on Ordeal of Nylea , Ordeal of Thassa and Grateful Apparition .

The two ordeals help with what this deck wants to do and get +1/+1 counters on creatures with the added benefit of dropping two basic lands on to the field and drawing me two cards.

The apparition is an improvement over Thrummingbird as I can hit Planeswalkers and get a proliferate trigger.

My own views may change as I play the deck more but for now I'll keep things as they are now with the exception of deciding what land to drop in favour of Karn's Bastion as I want to try that out.

Thank you for your time and suggestions. It's appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who has given their ideas and suggestions.

Thank you to everyone who has given their upvote.

Without everything each and every one of you have given, this deck wouldn’t be what it is nor where it is.

I thank you all.

A special Thank You to Last_Laugh. You have been a instrumental help and your deck Little Rey of Ishine (Reyhan/Ishai 2.74 cmc) has been a continuous source of inspiration.

Im having a bit of trouble understanding your reyhan and blade of selves synergy. Blade of selves exiles the tokens, and reyhan only moves the counters if the creature with the counters dies or goes to the command zone.

austintayshus says... #19

robbnoble because the tokens of reyhan are also legendary, the tokens will have to be immediately sacrificed due to the legend rule. They will not be exiled at the end of combat because they will already be dead and gone.

It keeps interesting to see your and last laughs versions of these partners. The core strategies with blade of selves and creating clones with e.g. Rite of Replication I uncovered are all included in both your decks, but everything else are on a complete different routes.

I like tempt with Discovery, but whenever I play it, I would always add a Strip Mine to counter Maze of Ith or Glacial Chasm utility lands. Or that one friend that always tutors his Gaea's Cradle .. Sigh

(Also you should play Mosswort Bridge , it is very underestimated!)

Thanks for stopping by. Appreciate the suggestions. I have those cards, have swapped them in to try out.

You've noticed that too. Those couple core cards, Last_Laugh and I share are ones I got from his deck and they are very potent. I couldn't justify removing them. As Last_Laugh has pointed out to me Blade of Selves , Rite of Replication and Doubling Season are fantastic for using with one another to abuse the ability of Reyhan, Last of the Abzan .

I owe him a huge thanks for that. It's made my deck pretty darn good within my playgroup.

Of course he did neglect to mention the hate I would draw when I add those cards. lol. Hmmm deliberate or unintentional? Jury is still out on that one.

I think he got the clone and blade of selves strategy from me when he started begin this year, he suggested Bramble Sovereign in return. I posted this strategy with a primer about it in 2017. But perhaps he also came up with it himself.

I have never been hated upon with those cards or Reyhan, most people are very surprised and enthusiastic about the possibilities. Especially dumping 100 counters on Walking Archive and passing on the turn is a mind blowing strat to others. But I usually play something else in my playgroup. With Reyhan my games are always a 3v1 haha

That's pretty cool when two people build off one another. Last_Laugh suggested Bramble Sovereign to me earlier this year. I tried it out but it didn't quite mesh with my build. Still I love the card and the artwork is fantastic. I wish it was legendary though.

I'm only hated on for those when my friends don't have an answer to them. It's a lot of damage.

Walking Archive I hadn't even considered that but damn what a potential win con. I may have to consider that.

Definitely deliberate lol... that Last_Laugh character is a douche that way. After most people see you murder someone by turn 3, they remember... weird lol.
