Rhys, the Redeemed EDH - Tokens

Commander / EDH GW (Selesnya)

Maybeboard

Rhys, the Redeemed Token/Elfball. Rhys' synergy with the elf package gives you early game ramp and tribal synergy. The deck can be extremely mana hungry so every little bit helps. Mid-game you want to establish your value producers, as well as protection for your board state with cards like Privileged Position, along with trying to develop a lethal board state. Finally, drop a massive pump effect like Kamahl, or Triumph of the Hordes to kill the table.

Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite + Kamahl, Fist of Krosa Turns Kamahl's first ability into G: Destroy target land an opponent controls.

Any elf tapping for at least 4 mana + Umbral Mantle Infinite mana, overrun infinitely with Kamahl, double infinitely with Rhys, not the automatic game ender it can be in other decks

Genesis + Survival of the Fittest First pitch something finding Genesis, then pitch Genesis to find something else. Now you have a Survival in play, and Genesis in the yard. Value time!

Avenger of Zendikar + Craterhoof Behemoth Getting these two off of an entwined Tooth and Nail usually ends the game if you have any kind of board presence.

Updates Add

Long time, no update!

The following changes have been made over the past year.

Out:

Blast Zone Rings of Brighthearth Nullmage Shepherd Path to Exile Teferi's Protection

In:

Hall of Heliod's Generosity Idol of Oblivion Heliod's Intervention Kodama's Reach Cultivate

Blast Zone wasn't relevant most of the time. Hall of Heliod's Generosity is fantastic at getting back our powerful enchantments in this deck (Sterling Grove every turn anyone?) Nullmage Shepherd has been alright, but Heliod's Intervention is a better topdeck when we're behind. Path to Exile was a bit overkill on the removal, and Teferi's Protection was okay as wrath protection, but this deck can recover quickly enough to not need it. Cultivate and Kodama's Reach just add to the speed and consistency of the deck.

Finally, the most interesting change is Rings of Brighthearth getting cut for Idol of Oblivion. Rings is great with Rhys, obviously, and has some synergy with other cards. However, it can be expensive to activate, and Idol gives us more draw which is never unwelcome. Rings might make it back in if Defense of the Heart gets cut.
