Maybeboard

Initial deck build credit to Travis Woo.

Took out the Borb because I felt he did too little those times you only had him and if you did get the whole combo off it felt more like a sack then an actual deck driven combo. I know people do have deck built around him and such but I feel making a deck like this have an OTK (one turn kill) purpose is going to be only for a fun deck.

Of course, you can just play Borb because... you can but I needed to cut in order to add more consistency in winning in the form of Nicol. I added Nicol because he is amazing by hiself. He can save me against the aggro matchups, hits rouge matchups hard, has great staying power, etc. and also I found a bunch of the time that my Aids would be useless because I wasted so much hand advantage to get there... leaving me with an Omniscience that would be useless. Of course, you can just bring back a creature but once and a while it would not feel like the best move especially since I do not main any kind of guaranted removal (like Luminate).... outside Bolas, Serenity and Izzet Charm, kinda. That is why I put him in. He is a good source of removal and protection that I feel is needed when you don't have it all. When you DO have it all he is very nice because of the ability to just mess up your opponent's board with him and Tyrant together. In my opinion, that is a more consistent win condition then Borb ever was... although it is kinda comparing apples to fruit flies.

I took out the Lighthouse for Bolas as well because although it was working well, I felt it was really unneeded although maybe it was just me being unlucky or some such. It can be good for long games but so is Bolas.

On Goblin over Chromatic Lantern; I know Lantern has the dual purpose of mana fixing and getting you to 5 by turn 4 BUT I felt it was conflicting with Forbidden too much for my comfort. It does work, don't get me wrong, but I feel it is just to... luck driven? Maybe this is the inexperienced me speaking (this will be my first irl deck) so I might be missing something. Tell me if so. Goblin, on the other hand, comes out on turn 2 and allows for the Forbidden to go off AND for me to be able to fit in something like Faithless as well. It also allows for a turn 3 Unburial if you opened Looting + Burial + Creature... although you don't expect to do that well. lol This card is also very crucial after you get into late game as it allows for those flashbacks and in hand casts to fit together to make the most use out of your mana, especially if you have Omni out.

Goblin can also be a chump blocker, depending on the situation.

You could also say Goblin dies to removal.... but a lot of things dies to removal (including Lantern in the case of Slime or Putrefy).

Breaking // Entering is an idea others are/were throwing around for its dual purpose ability so thats still in the air to be tested at some point but I want to figure out the main deck... idea? not sure how to put it but I need to understand it better... I guess the decks ability to perform.

Side Board has not been established at all but I have idea from others and from myself.

Familiar is an idea for certain matchups siding in a lot of graveyard removal (would side in G3 primarily... if I get there) and for control... although I have never played against control. lol The idea was to counter their counters without having to wait to caste something but after thinking about it on turn 4 they will just have a 3 cast to counter at 4 so it doesnt make much sense to side it at all sometimes... idk but idk much about that matchup at this point.

Luminate is for certain matchups where either the creatures need to be exiled or the life is necessary and will be evident, not just like 1 or 2. Mainly Aristocrats and maybe Junk Rites/normal? idk. He would usually replace Tyrant for a more favorable loop card in certain matchups as against decks like Arist hitting the land is not really that important, unless its on turn 3.

Stormtide was brought up by others to fight Gruul, other heavy aggro decks and would prob replace Tyrant.

(As you can tell my idea for the side is really to just take out the less favorable bigs and put more favorable ones in. (that are better without the combo...))

Teysa is also in idea for Aggro decks but I don't think she'd work out at all since its kinda easy to rack up damage form spells on her. Sure, 2 for 1 but... :/ idk. Also since I'm already half-way dead by the time I get her out. meh, but I WILL TEST LOL

Another card I've been thinking about is Rapid Hybridization. Its cheap costed removal where removal means get rid of my lose-condition (I'm looking at you Angel with my creatures). Gets rid of Reckonercombo, Obzedat, Sire, etc. I honestly don't know how strong my worries should be but I feel it may be a maybe option, maybe. lol
