The main question i have is is this causual or modern if causual add phyrexian obliterator actually add that either way. If this is modern it needs redone or at least a damn good side board this wont get you anywhere in modern too much anti spells availble like icona silence ect. Also you say slowly ya very slowly in modern where i play anyway games over turn 5 this wont cut it. If you really want to build a deck around lily of the veil a reanimator will be the best. I mean im not trying to be mean just modern is quite insane lol and this just wont cut it against most decks such as rdw control ramp or zoo. Also you arent utilizing blacks abilties geths verdict is god as an extra outlet but if you go against a token gen that could mean the diff between killing engine or token. And you have nothing to protect lily at all and against another black deck you get killed. The only chicken peck black deck i have seen play well is vamps and the key is basic weenie style fill the board with lifelinking vamps. In that case every turn i would nuke your creatue if you had one and attack lily all while gaining life

I do think a Phyrexian Obliterator would be a great defensive/offensive addition to give the push needed to complete this. Add four of it instead of one of the unblockable weenies, and the deck will get a huge boost to power and reliability.

With the life loss stuff being used, another idea could be to use four Death's Shadow as well. They'll get stronger the more you use your black life-draining powers.

Liliana is now protected, be it Obliterator or Damnation turn 4

okay, going to do a few play tests with Dark Confidant instead of Phyrexian Arena

July 18, 2013 2:13 a.m.

Vampire Nighthawk is a possibility.. +1

I like how it is now much better. The great thing with Dark Confidant is that it's so much easier to kill him than the Arena, should it begin to be troublesome for you. It's just gravy.

Id run Extirpate over Surgical Extraction because of the split second ability

July 18, 2013 2:09 p.m.

APPLE01DOJ says... #11

Reason for Surgical Extraction over Extirpate is that it can be cast turn 1 a long with Thoughtseize with only 1 swamp on the board. Extirpate means I wouldn't be able to cast it until turn 2.

Thank u every one whose helped making this deck stronger. If u read this, cast a vote, should I or shouldn't I keep the fetch lands in?

July 18, 2013 9:19 p.m.

8vomit says... #13

no need for those fetches i dont think man, just run some land that gives yoiu mana of any color

APPLE01DOJ says... #14

such as?

July 18, 2013 10:22 p.m.

Nigrescence says... #15

Without a way to gain life again, and with the other life loss effects, I do not think the fetches are necessary or helpful. They help to thin the deck, but without something like Vampire Nighthawk or Corrupt you don't have a way to rebound. I'd recommend considering some way to gain life back AND use the fetchlands. I recommend against Corrupt since you are using Dark Confidant , but the vampire could be good.

I would drop the fecth lands for swamps you dont need to thin the deck and thats all there really good for. I would also suggest exsquiste blood i dont know how to link but when opponent loses life you gain it also for more control over opponents maybe contimate ground also i would reduce the number of damnantions esp now thay you have pyrexian obliterator that should keep the board pretty well wiped.

Also although dark confidant is a wonderful card in this deck he will be your death this deck is control and he wants aggro your deck dont fit the bill you will die before winning just my opinion i would take him out for maybe Gatekeeper of Malakir solid 2/2 for 2 and if you kick youll keep the board wiped between that and phryxein they wont keep a creature out long.

i dunno, i have to do more play tests with him in. If I were to take him out, I would just add Phyrexarena back in.

Cyber Locc says... #19

again id be careful with that you dont have alot of life gain this is a control deck so odds are game will last awhile especially against another control deck

APPLE01DOJ says... #20

I dunno. I built this deck specifically (in it's original form) to take down Its Time For Trouble... and it does that fairly quick. That deck usually kills by turn 6.

APPLE01DOJ says... #21

granted it's not a control deck

July 18, 2013 11:52 p.m.

Cyber Locc says... #22

well it is cruel control but still control and i played you three times with my standard deck [Blood Thief] you won the first game i won the second two you won the first because of 2 racks in the opening hand the other 2 went long time the second went to turn 10 the 3 we both had around 15 or so cards i ended with over 10 life both times. my deck was black white and rtr block and m14 only
