You probably don't nee the 2 Chromatic Lantern .. I've been playing Grixis control since RTR and 25 lands and 2 Rakdos Keyrune s seems to be sufficient for me... (Although I would love to add a 3rd one)
Manabase wise, I'd say try cutting 1 Swamp and 1 Mountain each for 2 Blood Crypt s, since they fix both colors.
If you want to see my own Grixis Build deck:bow-before-my-intellect; it took 3rd/4th at Gameday at my LCS.

Your build is really creature deficient. Not necessarily a bad thing, but creatures are pretty important right now. So long as you can be confident with spells removing theirs, you could be fine though.
With the lack of creatures, I feel like the 2 return + 2 card:Devil's Play are necessary as good wincons.
Desecration Demon doesn't quite feel powerful enough. Giving your opponent a choice on if your creature can do anything or not is never in your favor. Perhaps trade him for Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius ? He'd easily be able to keep your hand stocked and he can kill your opponents or their creatures. Or Olivia Voldaren as she can build you an army by herself.
Also, I feel like you may need a little more removal. Maybe, Dreadbore ? It's almost never a dead card in any match up.

I have been entertaining the thought of Dreadbore as an option, but here are my problems with it:
1) Sorcery speed
2) Requires 1 of EACH Black/Red Mana to cast
3) Can't kill Knight of Glory which is being used more and more by X/W aggro decks (Selesnya and Azorius to be specific)
4) Can't 2 for 1 an aggro deck using Rancor (Searing Spear USUALLY stops this)
and most importantly...
5) I don't have any :)
Maybe I should look into getting a 1 or 2 and test, but when I've seen it played it usually comes up too late. Since it's sorcery speed if Thalia, Guardian of Thraben comes into play you can't "zap" their other creature in response

As far as creatures go, I've been thinking about replacing Desecration Demon . He has a faster clock than Olivia Voldaren though, and costs less than Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius which allows me to leave a mana up for Unsummon if i expect removal in my opponent's hand.
Lone Revenant seems like a logical choice and maybe I'll just move him to 3 of, but I'm still debating on this

with Chandra, the Firebrand you could mainboard a Slaughter Games its very devastating with her -2 copy skill.

I thought about that. Maybe maindeck a couple of Duress as well so I will know what my opponent has before I cast Slaughter Games .

I'm trying a similar deck. Why not Bonfire of the Damned ? I think Rakdos Charm may be better than cremate, though doesn't draw for you...
Here's my deck grixis controlah

The problem with Rakdos Charm is that it requires me to leave two mana up AND is only good vs Unburial Rites style decks.
Cremate can also be used vs undying -- such as Strangleroot Geist and card:Geralf's Messenger
Thanks for the suggestion though! If you think of something else that might work better than Cremate for sideboard let me know

this is what I came up with before dgm: Combo Breaker. I would probably change it slightly post dgm, add AEtherling and Blood Baron of Vizkopa to the sb. Add in Ral Zarek . I do think you want more -1/-1 counters for removal such as Mutilate /Tragic Slip . I leave my deck for you to gather ideas from.
June 12, 2013 10:26 a.m.
Far / Away is one of the best removals for Grixis in my experience, you're probably going to want 4. Also, it's a great combo with Sire Of Insanity .
June 12, 2013 10:47 a.m.
Solid list. The only thing that really struck me was the three Syncopate mainboard. I'd probably drop down to one and opt for a fourth copy of both Think Twice and Searing Spear .
There also needs to be a Dispel in your sideboard to take out Sphinx's Revelation .

Oh I forgot about Notion Thief in sideboard vs Sphinx's Revelation sylvannos lol. I'll update that later.
I will drop 1 x Syncopate for another Think Twice good suggestion!

@djd2488: If I add more that means i have to drop something else...what do you suggest? I'm trying NOT to limit my burn for finishers after a swing from Master of Cruelties
June 12, 2013 11:39 a.m.
I'd drop the 2 Syncopate for 2 Far / Away . Being forced to sacrifice a creature is just as good as a counterspell in most cases. And if you're worried about Obzedat, Ghost Council or Thragtusk then you have Essence Scatter and Dissipate anyway.

Interesting...I'll keep in mind and test both ways thanks!
June 12, 2013 12:59 p.m.
hmm seemsive already posted here ones :)
well this is my grixis build whos the master focussing more on Master of Cruelties i use Lone Revenant in it aswell since i love him and even had a deck dedicated to his. even now he own. 1 direct hit means i can mostly keep the field clear since i can practically fetch any for of removal from my deck.

@Sagi007:
I used to run Lone Revenant but he was too slow and doesn't have evasion. He's great when you can attack with him unblocked, but it is kind of hard to do so when token decks and the like are running rampant right now

I'm wanting to put 2 Forbidden Alchemy in here, but what should I take out?
Or would Jace, Architect of Thought be better than Ral Zarek for digging?
June 12, 2013 1:22 p.m.
What are you going to do against bant auras/hexproof? specifically turn 1 Avacyn's Pilgrim turn 2 Geist of Saint Traft turn 3 Spectral Flight Invisible Stalker turn 4 Ethereal Armor Unflinching Courage hands? Counters will help a bit, but a turn 2 Essence Scatter or Syncopate might show that often. None of the burn helps. 1 Far / Away is not going to be enough to stop it. Even sideboarding for game 2/3 will have consequences against it, when they bring in Rootborn Defenses and their own counters. This is the main reason I advise edict effects mainboard in a heavy dose.
June 12, 2013 1:26 p.m.
Jace, Architect of Thought > Ral Zarek ral is nice, but not better than the draw engine that jace is.
June 12, 2013 1:28 p.m.
What value will Forbidden Alchemy give you with very little flashback and only 2 Snapcaster Mage and no other graveyard retrieval. It may allow you to find an answer at some point. But not often enough for my tastes.
June 12, 2013 1:32 p.m.
harrydemon117 says... #23
My thought for the Forbidden Alchemy was a "dig" for my win cons, but I think that Jace will be better for that. The cons to that though are what's killing me:
1) Multiple Jaces can't exist on my side of the board
2) Ral Zarek allows me to burn my opponent after Sire Of Insanity trigger
3) Ral also helps me "ramp" to either Sire Of Insanity or Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
Guess I'll have to test out both ways to see which is better.
I moved one more Far / Away to main. What would you sideboard for the 3rd? I didn't want too many "dead" cards vs control in the main. I built this deck with the mindset of being versatile against the field. My normal burn spells should help against "normal" aggro decks, and the counterspells + "edicts" now should be ok vs Bant Auras

I dropped the Rakdos Keyrune and added the last Far / Away from the sideboard and a Devour Flesh also
June 12, 2013 2:08 p.m.
For sideboard, I would recommend a fewEssence Scatter for aggro and Negate fir control. Dissipate is good for reanimator. For Grixis the side is about fixing counters and removal, but your main seems pretty good for removal.

Jace, Memory Adept is holding places until I get either Jace, Architect of Thought or Tamiyo, the Moon Sage s.
Other than that, please let me know what you think
