Hmmm Sinobite I think Grixis loses a lot when the lands rotate. I would have to see what lands are available come rotation. Grixis control may not even be viable after rotation.
Now midrange on the other hand...you could build something around Keranos, God of Storms and some "devotion" guys that synergize well like Prognostic Sphinx etc

I'm looking forward to playing this tonight at FNM. I've enjoyed playing it with my friends so far!!!

What about Stormbreath Dragon ? He is a great finisher and is used in so many decks against Esper and U/W because of his pro white ability. He dodges verdict and avoids detentions. Plus when you monstrous him and control players always want a enormous hand full of answers they start taking life and you can instantly swing with all the damage dealt and more. Anyway can you look at my deck? I use stormbreath and he is sometimes very helpful! It's called Counter, Burn, or Kill.

Thanks for the comment! Stormbreath Dragon IS a great card but this is more of a "draw go" control deck meaning I'm looking to win with one specific card and not necessarily a lot. If it was more of a midrange deck then yes I would definitely run him as a 2 of. Desecration Demon costs 1 less meaning I can more easily have a counterspell up to deal with their "answer" to him and he doesn't die to 4 damage kill spells like Mizzium Mortars (as is the case against Gruul monsters).
As far as the dodging Supreme Verdict I'm not sure what you mean. His pro white only protects him from white TARGETABLE spells (or damage/being blocked by/enchanted by). Supreme Verdict doesn't target so he is still killed by it.
he does have haste which is nice so that he can deal damage right away, but only for that 1 turn.

Against u/w/x control Stormbreath Dragon does own. Dodges Banishing Light and Detention Sphere white can't block him..... He can block white all day if needed and here's usually what happens if they don't have a kill spell in hand:
Play, swing for 4.
Next turn, monstrous, 5-7 damage against esper with their big revelations.... Swing 7.
That's 15-18 damage in two turns. One of my favorite cards just cuz he's so cool but I think his abilities are really nice as well. I use him all the time but especially against u/w/x control you really want him.

I might put him in over Keranos, God of Storms as I haven't used him much lately

Yeah I was wrong about the verdicts and it only means targeting spells.

Very nice deck. For card draw/advantage since I do not have any Jace, do you think Steam Augury , Read the Bones , or Divination would make suitable replacements?

Divination for sure. Grixis can't afford the life loss from Read the Bones otherwise that would be the go to choice. Steam Augury seems good, however you leave a choice to your opponent and that is bad for a control deck
Personally, I would go with Inspiration as it's instant speed and has the same CMC as Jace

This deck looks awesome! I'm a huge fan of Grixis colors and if I played Standard, this is quite close to what my deck would probably end up looking like. Link saved for future reference! :D

I love the deck, too bad most of it you'll have to swap when RTR and M14 falls out. Also, your description is awesome. I am working on a Grixis deck as well, but trying to keep it post rotation. I was hoping for your input on the matter please: Dat Control Doe. Thanks. +1 to you.

I love Grixis! And I love this deck. I've tested it online just a tad and it holds its own.
I like the balance of budget and competitiveness. Seems like it could use fetchlands instead of scrylands if you have the budget, Polluted Delta, Bloodstained Mire, Scalding Tarn.

Any chance you would want to work on a Block version of Grixis to have a decent skeleton going into rotation?
