I could use suggestions on Mainboard + Sideboard. Sideboard in particular! I'm new to the format so countering it is difficult.
This is a rogue deck I'm copying->adapting from Vassil Mihailov and user Boza. It focuses on rogue tribals and prowl to cheat in spells. It feels like a very solid introduction to the Modern format.
This deck is very cheap without Thoughtseize and Bitterblossom, and you can run Duress instead just fine. For ~15 I picked up Inquisition of Kozilek and the rest of the deck on MTGO. I went crazy and splurged on Thoughtseize/Kozilek in Paper because it's not the worst investment.
The basic rundown is this: You have 12 T1 plays, 8 of which are hand disruption and 4 Prickly Boggart that will (provided it gets 1 damage across) net you access to every spell in your deck except for Earwigs on T2. Paper curve doesn't mean much when you can just cheat everything in. Toss in a Banneret or two and suddenly you're dropping Earwig Squad for 1-2 black mana. Stinkdrinker Bandit turns that poke into a threat. Earwig Squad lets you root out the rest of those opposing card threats you caught earlier in your opponent's hand. Oona's Blackguard are like your "lords", and turn your pokes into forced hand discard.
You're fairly weak to burn and control, so I've been looking to sideboard into answers.
This deck has a lot of vision which I find invaluable for a newbie like myself. I get to peer through hands and libraries with abandon. In a blind matchup I generally try for a T3 Earwig and an early Thoughtseize/Inquisition. That gives me almost full vision over all but a couple cards in their deck.
Upgrades:
Bitterblossom is obvious for a deck like this, but really expensive. I'm waiting on it because I may move on to other things.
Dunerider Outlaw found a place on sideboard because he's a low cost rogue that can keep pace with Tarmogoyf. He synergies with Oona's Blackguard.
I'm considering Sygg, River Cutthroat in place of Oona's Prowler, but the loss of evasion may not be worth it.
I'm experimenting with some artifacts like Cloak and Dagger, Lightning Greaves, and Dolmen Gate.
Tentatively looking at control spells like Shadow of Doubt to lock down fetches/tutors, Dash Hopes to try and prevent board wipes/revelations, Imp's Mischief to deal with burn, and Surgical Extraction or Extirpate to seek out even more cards to remove.
