This Decks Prerequisite Check List

  • Do you love ETB (Enter the Battle Field) Triggers?
  • Do you love blinking all your things for more ETB triggers?
  • Do you love having a toolbox at your disposal to take care of many and multiple threats in a single game?

If you answered yes to any of those, then I have the decklist for you.

Roon, of the Hidden Realm!

This deck is designed to explode from the early game to get our your value creatures out with the goal to blink them over and over again until your opponents are begging you to stop!

I will be breaking down what each of the three colors do for this build of the Angry Rhino:

White

White is our key to removal and board state control while offering a few blinkers as well: - Path To Exile - Swords To Plowshares - Austerer Command - Mist Meadow Witch - Eldrazi Displacer

Blue

Blue is our tool of control and more blinking. Blue is known for its complicated and tricky nature and it is perfect to protect the things that we need to keep on the field: - Deadeye Navigator - Gilded Drake - Rhystic Study - Pemmin's Aura - Venser, Shaper Savant

Green

Green is our powerhouse game enders. This color is going to ramp us in the early game and then shoot us ahead of our opponents in the late game: - Avenger of Zedikar - Sky Shroud Claim - Tooth and Nail - Bramble Sovereign - Springbloom Druid

How To Play This Deck:

Key Creatures:
  • Avenger of Zendikar: Is usually the creature card that is going to make us blockers to defend ourselves until we can flicker it a bunch more times. A few landfall triggers and our 0/1 Plant tokens are ready to deal some damage and usually take some players out.
  • Hornet Queen: Same basic principal as the Avenger but the Queen is a flier and brings 4 friends with her (They also have flying and death touch!). This is a key card to block other decks that include a multitude of flying creatures.
  • Prime Speaker Zegana: One of the best creatures in the deck. She hits the field and provides a big body AND draws you cards. Later in the game she will be a key target for Roon's flickers for you to stay ahead of your opponents.
  • Momir Vig: Momir is a toolbox card. When you cast a creature, depending on its color, you are going to get to tutor OR draw a card and sometimes both!
More Blinkers:
  • Brago, King Eternal: Was actually the commander before I added the third color. Brago is amazing as he will blink all non-lands to your hearts content. But he does need to hit for combat damage.
  • Deadeye Navigator: Super powerful card, often times this is killed on site. Can be used to protect our better creatures and it self from removal and we will get that creatures ETB multiple times for only 2 mana, no tapping required.
  • Mistmeadow Witch: Similar to Roon, the witch is going to return creatures at the next end step and costing way more than Roon or the Navigator, the witch can hit multiple targets without tapping.
  • Eldrazi Displacer: Similar to the Witch, the Displacer is going to flicker things but they return instantly, no tapping required.
  • Venser the Sojourner: He blinks PERMANENTS you own and they return at the end of the next end step. His ultimate is way higher than his start but his +2 is really what we want.
Easy Engine:
  • Seedborne Muse: She is going to untap our lands and Roon so we can flicker more stuff before our turn.
  • Thrasios, Triton Hero: Pretty self explanatory. Thrasios is awesome.
Non-Creatures:
  • Cathar's Crusade: This card WINS games. I can't stress this enough, flicker your Avenger of Zendikar with this on the battlefield and you will win the game. This card also combos with Glen Elendra to ensure you will always have a counterspell on hand.
  • Pemmin's Aura: This is only in the deck to equip to Roon. 4 abilities to untap him, give him flying or hexproof. Really solid include.
  • Smothering Tithe: Just...just put this in any white deck you ever make. You will thank me later.
  • Guardian Project: This is going to draw us cards to keep us in the game when ever we cast or flicker a creature.

-Roon of the Hidden Realm is a legendary rhino soldier from an unknown plane, who is believed to guard the gate of an ethereal world.

-Raised in a devout family, the young rhox was drawn to warlike pursuits against his father's wishes. Roon joined the infamous Herald's Army, where he became a skilled fighter. After a mistaken slaughter of innocents, he deserted and wandered in the wilderness, where he received a vision of the Hidden Realm and was told he was the keeper of its secrets.

-While some called him a blasphemer, Roon embarked on a pilgrimage to rally people to his cause. His compelling personality attracted many, and he became a prophet with legions of followers. Roon doesn't actively seek out conflict, but when he perceives a threat, he will eliminate it quickly and efficiently. For those who believe in him, he is a great guardian who will one day open the gate to eternal glory.
