This Ceta deck is my latest concoction from the long winding road that is green/green-red/Jund monsters.
There's not a WHOLE LOT that is different with this one from other G/R-style decks. You still have the staple package of Mystics/Caryatids/Hydra/Dragon. However, a few key things are not featured in this deck.
To start off, we are splashing blue rather than black. Why? Black removal is weak versus blue IMO. Blood Baron of Vizkopa exists, and black removal doesn't necessarily stop bombs like Grey Merchant of Asphodel, Master of Waves, or Fanatic of Mogis. Those three cards can be DEVASTATING. In turn, we use blue splash to get in Essence Scatter. I know what you're thinking: why run Essence Scatter over Dissolve? The answer is simple: mana costs. Dissolve calls for a double-blue, while Essence Scatter does not. Moreover, we also run Simic Charm and Mizzium Mortars for removal. It's a nice setup, as Simic Charm can bounce pesky stuff back to their hand (and remove counters if necessary), while Mizzium Mortar takes out the majority of aggro that is in competitive play. Simic Charm also gives us the opportunity to make everyone hexproof...EVERYONE. That includes your planeswalkers. Yeah. That's powerful. If worse comes to worse, you have a pump spell for an Elvish Mystic or something to fool them into letting something die.
Beyond that, we have three gods in the deck: Nylea, Keranos, and Xenagos. Xenagos is obviously to make that big aggro even bigger (and get an indestructible creature on the board), Nylea is to make sure that the big aggro can get damage through (and get an indestructible creature on the board), and Keranos gives us either card draw or another removal/shock option. You would be amazed how great it is to use Keranos for a 3 damage blast on a Stormbreath, followed up by a 1-hit monstrous from Polukranos to kill Stormbreath and swing for game (and it has HAPPENED!).
We run Boon Satyr over Courser of Kruphix because I don't have any Coursers and because making things bigger or flashing in a blocker can be quite a bit stronger. Courser has a giant bullseye painted on its head, while Boon opens up options.
We have no Domri Rade. He's an incredible card. I said that when he was inexpensive, and I still say it while he is expensive. However, when it comes down to it, we don't actually need him in this deck. When we consider that he is basically a 3-drop way to get a possible card draw or Pit Fight and then look at the removal we have in our current deck, Domri doesn't reeeeeally fit into this whole shebang. Therefore, we only have two Xenagos, the Reveler, and that is more than enough. His mana ramp and 2/2 Satyrs will do more for us in the long run.
Onto the sideboard, we run the following:
Kiora's Dismissal and Unravel the Aether to get rid of enchantments/enchantment creatures
Mistcutter Hydra for the blue match-up
Negate to take care of any potential threats like planeswalkers, a crucial Hero's Downfall or whatever it may be
Plummet for fliers like Stormbreath, D-Demon, Nightveil Specter, and anyone with Gift of Orzhova on them
Shock for low-drop aggro decks like Rakdos, weenie, and the likes
Sylvan Primordial for fliers, Nykthos destruction, and all kinds of other things
Tidebinder Mage for the mirror of G/R monsters
Rapid Hybridization for when Essence Scatter just isn't enough, i.e. D-Demon, Stormbreath, Boros Reckoner, Kalonian Hydra, etc
Skullcrack for Sphinx's Revelation, Grey Merchant of Asphodel, and Ajani, Mentor of Heroes
As far as what you want to side out, it's really up to you, the player. There are three sets of gods in there, and they don't ALL necessarily need to stay for you to still have an advantage. Look at the other player's playstyle as well as deck, figure out where the drops need to happen in your deck, and you should be a-okay.
