Some history about me and relevance to the card, to read a description on just the deck skip past the line a few paragraphs down...

So i used to play, back in the day. One of my favorite cards besides Chaos Orb was Eureka . This was way back when there was no real internet decks, tournaments and places to play were scarce. So most of my gaming revolved around playing with a group of friends, kitchen table style.

Back then the selection was pretty scarce EDH didn't exist, Legendary creatures were mostly all horrible. But Eureka was a way to go crazy, and Lure with Thicket Basilisk and/or Rabid Wombat was my go-to finish off of a successfully cast Eureka.

So after Ice Age or so, i sold off all my cards, bought a few packs here or there, but essentially stopped gaming as all of my gamer friends moved away. Fast forward to a few years back, Avacyn Restored, curiosity brought me into a gaming shop, and wow Magic has certain grown!

So waiting to trade into a Eureka for years, my store FINALLY acquired one, and i decided to just fork over the cash for it as it's not going to see reprint. So i was certainly happy enough to revisit this card armed with a few years of modern play, and a vast amount of big dumb stuff to cheat out compared to "back in the day".

So i build my EDH decks to be good, but prefer them to be interactive and not overpowered. That being said, this deck is centered on playing ridiculous fatties and cheating as many of them on the board, and stomping face. So there are a plethora of cards enabling you to do so.

Since we are all about cheating stuff into play, the deck will inherently permanent heavy. Planeswalkers are abundant to not only provide an alternative win-condition, but supplement the strategy by introducing sorcery type interaction in a permanent form.

A huge strategy will come from stealing opponents creatures, you never can be certain if someone benefits more from a Eureka than you, so having these types of effects are great. Having sacrifice outlets like another old favorite Diamond Valley increase the value.

Speaking of sac-outlets, this deck is very much a tool-box type deck Birthing Pod being huge game. Plenty of creatures with ETB, and LTB effects.

Finally another relevant card in this deck will be Doubling Season. There are certainly a few favorable effects with creatures, but none better than the interaction of doubling the loyalty counters on planeswalkers when they hit the board. Planeswalker ultimates are mostly all absurd, and by absurd i mean silly, and by silly i mean fun.

So it's fun for me to reflect on this deck because to me it actually originates from a group deck i played around 20 years ago? Back when brewing wasn't a rogue plan, creating decks were just a normal part of the game.

Cheers!
