Summary

This is a RUG deck focused on controlling the flow of the game through both regular control spells and land destruction/ramp cards. There isn't really any core combo or specific synergies to the deck; it just relies on keeping the game slow enough that you can fish out your land destruction and keep the board under control.

Key cards

• Zendikar Incarnate is the main win condition of the deck. Since you have plenty of ramp, it won't take long for this thing to have a fairly high power. You don't need to protect it much either, since by the time you get it out you should have the board well under your control. (Unfortunately, I currently only have one of these but I would run three if I could!)

• Mwonvuli Acid-Moss and Into the Maw of Hell are the deck's land destruction, with Acid-Moss providing extra ramp and thinning and Into the Maw giving you a good way to kill off a high-value target. These cards are key to winning the game.

• Gatecreeper Vine is a key part of your early defence against aggressive cards like Perilous Myr and Goblin Arsonist.

Mulligan strategy

Key things to look for in terms of mana in the opening hand are at least with at least and either or , although generally unless you have Twin Bolt in your hand, is highly favoured.

Gatecreeper Vine is an excellent card to look for, although if you have a reasonable amount of mana, I wouldn't go below 5 cards trying to find one in your opening hand, provided you have something to play early.

Evolutionary Leap can also be an amazing asset provided you have early creatures like Gatecreeper Vine and Frost Lynx. Don't mulligan to look for it, but if you get it along with something to sac, it adds a lot of value to the hand, even if you have to take a 2 mana hand for it (since it will help you find ramp in the form of Gatecreepers).

Playstyle

Play it like a traditional control deck. There's not much else I can say here.
