Current floater spots are being given to The Royal Scions, Jace, Architect of Thought, and Mystical Dispute. Jace and Mystical Dispute are more or less meta calls, Jace against 30+ creature decks that are always running around, Dispute because there are more blue decks now with Uro and UR partners on top of the normal blue meta. Scions is here to test whether it fits with the deck on its own.

Ruhan of the Fomori, in the current meta (June, 2019), allows you to play red sweeps without having to work around Ruhan, while red sweeps are now more important than ever with all of the 30 to 40 1-3 toughness creature decks. Being able to have Ruhan on the board and keep him on the board after successfully clearing the path for him is a major upside to having him not only as the commander, but as the win con. He gets around a lot of spot removal, and many times requires 2 for 1 trades in order to clear him from the board. This creates a dependable clock and card advantage while the deck already does a great job at generating a net card advantage over most aggro to midrange decks.

It's just your typical jeskai control you'd see in modern or legacy with some land destruction for some extra zest.
