when it comes to cards like Tormods crypt im my opinion its just better if you make your deck faster so their graveyard doesn't fill up. The game plan for decks with sidisi when facing you is to get to the late game and if tormod's crypt takes up a draw step that could of been stoke the flames that slows you down potentially dooming your self because you forced the long game by slowing your deck down by putting in crypt when really you just needed to make your deck faster if you get what I mean. Just a suggestion though good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I only plan to use this card on graveyard based decks. And next to that it also can speed up things. Because it can buff my Monastery Swiftspear on turn one.

I'd try to put in a full set of Dragon Mantle. With such an aggro approach, you're oging to need some draw power by mid game

Yeah I know, but what needs to go out?... Can't decide...

I would drop the Firedancer and throw in Satyr Hoplite.
Consider Magma Spray in the side board, Anger is way to risky for you.
Inferno Fist and Ordeal of Purphoros are both very cool as well.
I have a similar deck. You should check it out.http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/red-deck-baby/It runs Rabblemaster which obviously isn't budget tho XD
November 15, 2014 10:30 a.m.
I think I'dd prefer to play Searing Blood and keep Satyr Firedancer. Because I noticed I missed a bit of control and with Satyr Firedancer I can keep poking my opponent and also keep hitting creatures.
I'm not a big fan of Satyr Hoplite. I think he is good, but not good enough because he is not fast enough.

Hey guys, I'm now finetuning my deck. Especcialy my sidedeck. So here are some questions for you guys. Should I add Scouring Sands to my side in stead of Barrage of Boulders. And should I add Harness by Force or Act of Treason and for what should is swap them for if I add them to my side? Thanks for your help in advance!

it depends on whether you think paying the 2 and getting the scry for Scouring Sands, or paying 3 for Barrage of Boulders. I run Circle of Flame personally because it stays out on the field and stops literally most of the tokens or 1 power creatures that are on the ground from attacking or dying as soon as they attack for creatures like Brimaz and Rabblemaster. If your going to be able to have more than 3 mana on a consistent basis then run Harness by Force, if not then Act of Treason would be your best bet since you will only take one whereas Harness by Force if you can strive it often then go with that.
November 21, 2014 2:53 p.m.
Thanks for the comment. I totally forgot Circle of Flame. I think that is the best option indeed. If I should take Harness by Force or Act of Treason I think I should take Harness by Force. Because I play mono red so I always pay 3 . And if it will become lategame and I have the possibility to gain control of 2 creatures that could be great. Also I'm now thinking about Fated Conflagration for my side because all standard legal planeswalkers (except Garruk, Apex Predator) have after using one ability 5 loyalty points. Also i can kill some tough blokkers with it if it would be needed. Sadly it cant target players. So this was an idea i had: add Shrapnel Blast and Darksteel Citadel. I dont think it is great but it might work. Im gonna test it and then ill make a verdict.

New question: should I add Firedrinker Satyr? And if I will add it should I swap it for Frenzied Goblin or War-Name Aspirant or both some? Also I was wandering if I should add two Searing Blood and swap them for two Magma Jet.
November 21, 2014 6:47 p.m.
If you're running Foundry Street Denizen I would recommend swapping out the War-Name Aspirant so they won't conflict. Searing Blood is a good sideboard card, but won't do you much good unless the opponent is playing small creatures. I'd stick with Magma Jet. I really like Hammerhand as it does so much for 1 mana. Buffs + Haste + Avoiding Blockers all for one mana is such a great deal.
November 22, 2014 12:09 a.m.
Yeah I know. Hammerhand is really awesome.
Hand: Hammerhand, Monastery Swiftspear, Akroan Crusader, 2x Titan's Strength, 2x Mountain.
T1: Monastery Swiftspear, swing for 1 (Opponent at 19)
T2: Akroan Crusader, Hammerhand --> get a Warrior token and buff Monastery Swiftspear. Swing for 5. (Opponent at 14)
T3: Titan's Strength x2, get 2 warriors, Monastery Swiftspear get +2/+2. Swing for 14. Opponent dead...
Ideal situation :P
Don't forget you can idealize your draw in turn 3 by playing Titan's Strength in your upkeep.
November 24, 2014 1:40 p.m.
Hah! Your t3 kill I pulled off exactly that against a modern slivers deck the other day! Love mono red, and therefore this deck! +1 for sure. My suggestions, Drop the satyr firedancer. I feel like you don't have enough burn to make them worth it. Only two of them and only 10 burn spells. I run 4 of them with 20 burn spells and I'm questioning droping them entirely. If you do that, I'd go up to a 4th Foundry Street Denizen and Akroan Crusader. also, I agree with Eidolon of the Great Revel main board. I run 3 mainboard and after some research in both my local meta and top tier, it hits on average about 65% of all cards, and against Abzan, the biggest threat post sideboard, it'll hit even more, cause odds are, they side out maybe elspeth, wingmate roc, maybe Ajani or utter end for cheaper stuff like fleecemane lion, bile blight and drown in sorrow. I'd also put in 4 Stoke the Flames at the expense of 2 Magma Jet, having 4 damage burn spells is essential sometimes. Especially against a Courser of Kruphix. You should also consider a single blinding flare mainboard. It's against practical against any other deck and even if they only have a blocker or two. Plus, if it's for the winning damage, it's always a prowess trigger or a heroic trigger. Or both!
November 25, 2014 7:09 p.m.
Yeah I think ill drop Satyr Firedancer. It is nearly impossible to play a burn spell with him on the board. In other words: he is a 1/1 for 2 mana. I wont add Eidolon of the Great Revel because i want this deck to stay budget. Im gonna play 2 myself by dropping 1 Frenzied Goblin and 1 War-Name Aspirant.
Btw: I optioned a more expensive version of this deck in the deckdescription. Without Eidolon though... But you can easily fit it in.
November 26, 2014 3:58 a.m.
I think ill swap the Foundry Street Denizen out for Firedrinker Satyr. Because the number of creatures entering the battlefield is quite low each turn. Naerly all the time Denizen is 2/1 max. And Firedrinker Satyr is 2/1 all the time. With an option for firebreathing.
November 26, 2014 11:23 a.m.
Using Akroan Crusader I was able to get Foundry Street Denizen up to a 5/1 in one turn. It's definitely a powerhouse when it can be, but that was kind of a lucky move.
November 26, 2014 11:37 a.m.
Yeah, that is the thing. It is more luck than wisdom (no offense) if you get Akroan Crusader so strong. I think he is more viable together with Goblin Rabblemaster because he constantly gives token. But in my case 'without the master' Firedrinker Satyr is more consistent.

Hello hopefully you can use my deck as a loose guide to building yours, check it out here:
December 5, 2014 5:04 p.m.
I played my firts FNM with this deck and went 2-1-1. Got promo (cause it was my first FNM ever) so now i finally have 4 Stokes.
First game: Mono Red Aggro (first win)
Won first game. Put Circle of Flame in what stopped his Firedrinker Satyr. But it made it impossible for me to get trough. Lost game 2. Won last game.
Second game: Mardu Midrange (tie)
Won first game. Lost second game because of Crackling Doom and really nasty Butcher of the Horde. Last game was a tie because we ran out of time.
Third game: Weird lategame planeswalker/token deck (loss)
Won first game, he wasnt able to play a thing. Because of that i made wrong calls for sidedeck. Lost 2 last games. Must have played Circle of Flame because he played Elspeth, Raise the alarm and other 1/1 tokens. He also played Seeker of the Way btw. Killed it all the time with a burn spell. You dont want him to go off.
Last game: Blue/White midrange. (second win)Won first game. Lost second game because I drew 7 non-creature cards in a row :( after my opponent played a End Hostilities. Late game was close got him down to 4. He played a fetch so he went to 3. Then he played a Brimaz, I killed it with Stoke. Next turn he played Resolute Archangel I killed it with Fated Conflagration at the moment the ability triggered so he wont go back to 20. At that moment i only had a land in hand. Then i drew a Lightning Strike. I passed the turn. Made him play his turn (he had 5 cards in hand) and then I played Lightning Strike at the end of his turn, hoping he did not have a counter. He did not so I won that game.
Conclusion:
I felt I wasnt able to go around their defence all the time. For exaple if my opponent played Sorrin. My War-Name Aspirant was useless. Therefor i think ill swap her for Hordeling Outburst and get Foundry Street Denizen back instead of Firedrinker Satyr. This way my field will be broader and it also will trigger Monastery Swiftspear and Foundry Street Denizen.
Also I think ill drop 1 Coordinated Assault for 1 Hall of Triumph for the nasty mid/lategame.
For my sidedeck ill drop the Circle of Flame and add 2 Scouring Sands.
Fated Conflagration and Phyrexian Revoker did what they needed to do. Stop and kill planeswalkers and nasty creatures.
Also i think ill add 1 or 2 Peak Eruption in my sidedeck for extra burn agains mirror and to destroy Chained to the Rocks.
Im actually really pleased with this deck. Because it worked really well and i was able to win against decks waaay more expensive then this one. And for my first FNM ever and first time with this deck. I can not complain going 2-1-1. Ranked 7 of 17.

I had it in there but I never had a good chance to test it. But if Shaman of the Great Hunt will do the trick. I dont think he Hall of Triumph will be needed. Will definitely give it a try.

I guess adding 2 or 3 Temple of Abandon also couldn't hurt. I geuss to 2 will do.

Like Eidolon is cheap :P... Luckily I happen to have one though so I can test it and dont have to buy another (i can use a foil one from my brother :P). But i do think Eidolon of the Great Revel should be a side and not a main. Because it really hurts my self a lot too. I have thought about Scouring Sands but I think Barrage of Boulders also gives me quite a good wincondition by making my creatures nearly unblockble.
