This deck is meant to allow for creature that are generally over looked that can block multiple creatures. If you can sit safely behind 1 creature you can stall for win conditions, why try to do more?

Why choose Rune-Tail? Rune-Tail is capable of coming out on turn 2 or 3 and immediately stopping your creatures from taking any form of damage. This allows cards that redirect damage to a creature you control to prevent all forms of damage from hitting you.
The basic strategy is to get Rune-Tail out as quickly as possible and hide behind small creatures that can't take damage and slowly gain life. Cards to prioritize once Rune-Tail is on board are Protector of the Crown , Palisade Giant , Pariah , and Pariah's Shield as they can prevent all forms of damage from hitting you. Use this to stall until you gain access to win conditions such as Felidar Sovereign , Test of Endurance , or Approach of the Second Sun .
Its pretty important to keep Rune-Tail on board once it flips. Use cards such as Fountain Watch , Martyr's Bond , Indestructibility , and Avacyn, Angel of Hope to either discourage removal of your board or prevnt it entirely. Rebuff the Wicked will allow you to counter something that targets it as well. If you can't stop the removal don't worry! Emeria can help. It may be worthwhile to allow Rune-Tail into your graveyard if you have access to either Emeria Shepard or Emeria, The Sky Ruin .
Suggestions and Ideas for improvement are always welcome.
