Saw Solphim, Mayhem Dominus do work on the prerelease event today (shoutout crokeyz) and it made me wanna make a burn deck for commander. I know doing mono red w Solphim at the helm is probably the way to go, and I do love mono red, but I think adding other colors would be more fun and a bit less predictable/more replayable. White is the obvious next add bc Lightning Helix and the like, but no Boros commanders really excited me for the prospect (except Gisela, Blade of Goldnight but she's expensive and has the same predictability problem). After that its close between black and green, but I think green edges it out bc Cindervines (but black does have some cool stuff, like Smiting Helix and Breath of Malfegor). That's when I went looking for Naya commanders and found Atla. Atla has always struck me as a classic creatures commander, not bad but nothing that excited me. But in a burn shell...she's basically a tutor/cheater for all the best burn related creatures! While I would like to squeeze black in, she's the best commander for the job I can find (and i don't want to mash two unrelated partners together to make 4 color work). Lets find out!
