Rush Format-Milling Fast!

Custom Aggro Jank Mill UB (Dimir)

ConsumingKiribo

So there's a new rush format, and it halves everything. In addition, Lightning Bolt is likely eating a ban, so I decided to make a mill deck that might have a chance of being decent in this format.

It's still a casual format though.

Feel free to add suggestions to the sideboard. There's not really much I could do. In addition, I want to keep this as budget as possible, as with most of the rest of the decks I create. So budget suggestions!

Now for the actual deck:

The deck uses my favorite theme: Mill. This is a more aggressive form of mill, as Phenax, God of Deception x Consuming Aberration will not work in a rush format.

So how do we win? Mill. This uses mill staples, such as Hedron Crab, newer staples that are the exact same thing as the thing it's copying, such as Ruin Crab, and Glimpse the Unthinkable.

We also have 3 forms of removal, Drown in the Loch as Aggro decks will definitely be the norm and Combo is just too slow, Midrange will be alright, and Control? Anyways, your opponent's graveyard will have a lot of cards in their graveyard, and Drown in the Loch will help keep your opponent in check. There are some Voltron decks being created with Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh, so Drown in the Loch is a great idea. The great part of mill decks is that they have many removal spells at their disposal. Like burn decks. sigh.

Wall of Lost Thoughts mills 4, and that's it. However, it can be a chump blocker to any Voltron decks, but hyper-aggressive decks that constantly spawn threats are going to be problematic. You want to end the game faster than they will, but having large amounts of crab raves and a few walls that also contribute to your strategy as a bonus is going to be important.

Anyways, Mill decks are not going to be the best in this format, but they will do better than in EDH and better than in any other formats. It's more likely you'll mill out an important card that an opponent needs, but given how it's likely Aggro decks are going to be the norm in this format, I'm having doubts about mill being good. It takes 2 mana to take out 1/3 of an opponent's "health". Don't count on mill being one of the best omg so wow. Instead, count on it being, eh alright. Like in every other format.

sigh
