Sideboard

Rakdos aggro was a deck that saw a bit of play back before rotation. Unfortunately Thragtusk and Lingering Souls both saw play alongside good removal like Bonfire of the Damned and Terminus. Now all those have left standard and the only a few cards such as Elspeth, Sun's Champion have been printed or remain to threaten the deck. I will also answer some basic questions about the deck

BREAKDOWN OF CREATURES

Rakdos Cackler is one of the crucial 2/x's for one in the deck. Not being able to block is pretty irrelevant.

Tormented Hero is another 2/x for 1. The heroic is rarely triggered but Madcap Skills can do it.

Ash Zealot is the first 2 drop. 2/2 first strike and haste is nice against Burning-Tree Emissary and mono red in general.

rakdos shread-freak is yes an additional copy of Ash Zealot best. Does reanimate with Xathrid Necromancer and gives two devotion to Mogis's Marauder.

Spike Jester is the ideal 2 drop. enabling 5 damage on turn 2 almost seals the deal.

Xathrid Necromancer is the one of the only creatures without haste. He is not aggressive but forces control players to look to answers other than Supreme Verdict to stop the onslaught.

Mogis's Marauder is the most underrated card in the format and deserves recognition. Allowing creatures to get around Voice of Resurgence, Feindslayer Paladin and in some cases Boros Reckoner is huge and often puts my opponent in range of Lightning Strike. Unfortunately lacks against Mono Red and Mono Black.

Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch is the new Hellrider. Not to mention that there are not a lot of x/5+ seeing huge amounts of play beside Obzedat, Ghost Council. It comes down and wins.

BREAKDOWN OF REMOVAL AND AURAS

Dreadbore answers almost everything in the current meta game. The notable exceptions being elspeth's sun champion, Obzedat, Ghost Council, Blood Baron of Vizkopa, AEtherling and Master of Waves. However by the time those resolve the game should be pretty much over.

Lightning Strike is up next and although it is far from Lightning Bolt answers a notable number of creatures. It also seals the deal once my opponent is under three life.

Madcap Skills is used as an additional copy of Lightning Strike with a potential upside against decks without a lot of removal or a major downside against Azorius and Esper Control.

ROUND 1

RAKDOS AGGRO VS SELESNYA AGGRO

Game 1: Opened with a very aggresive hand with multiple copies of Spike Jester and Mogis's Marauder. I dodged around the beefy blockers and won pretty fast.

Game 2: Opened with Whip of Erebos in hand hoping the life gain would allow me to keep pace with the larger creatures. Unfortunately Fiendslayer Paladin stopped the creature onslaught and Ranger Guile voided Doom Blade. I was inevitably over ran by much larger creatures.

Game 3: Kept a 1 land hand with Thoughtseize while my opponent had to mulligan down to 5. Unfortunately he was able to resolve 2 Advent of the Wurms and preceded to crush me.

ROUND 2

RAKDOS AGGRO VS JUND MIDRANGE

Game 1: Opened fast with Ash Zealot and Spike Jester bring down my opponent's life total. Unfortunately all progress ground to a halt after Master of Cruelties came down. My opponent brought me down to 1 life but never drew the means of finishing me off. Eventually the creatures got through and took home game 1.

Game 2: Opened with a fast hand which allowed me to lower my opponents life total and then lock him out with Burning Earth. I t was a no contest fight after that.
