"Nothin' like the rush of three-hundred tons of flying steel to get you going..."
Alright, here we are fresh into the first expansion of the Kaladesh series. Thanks to Aether Revolt, we've got a whole bunch of new toys to play with. My favorite mechanic of the new block so far is the Vehicles mechanic, so I built a deck that caters to flinging as much steel at the opponent as possible.
Everything's pretty straightforward in this deck, it's a midrange that focuses on vehicles and pilot abilities. That being said, there's a lot of angles of attack that can secure a victory. The specific angle here is from above, with Aeronaut Admiral being our major focus here, who can give every vehicle flying even without crewing a vehicle. But of course, there's still Eddytrail Hawk than can help put things in the air earlier in game.
As for attacking, there's a lot of options on how to get things done. Pilot side, Renegade Wheelsmith, Veteran Motorist, and Gearshift Ace can crew up and give great bonuses for any situation. Blockers? We can either hit them with first strike or just flat out say "No". None of those options open? Need to clean up a board before things get messy? There's a couple options, either with creatures, enchantments, or combat tricks to really finish a game and keep the opponent on edge.
Now for the main part of this deck, the vehicles. Everyone loves Renegade Freighter and it's beefy attacks with trample, paired with a Veteran Motorist and it becomes even bigger of a problem. Peacewalker Colossus is pretty normal, but it's ability to autopilot a Consulate Dreadnought for 2 mana pretty much gives a 7/11 killer for a single mana.
There's a couple extra cards in this deck that's for special situations... Restoration Specialist is the only 1-off in this deck because while it's relatively weak, it's useful in case you really need a vehicle back and can't find any, really it's just a drop-and-sac for the times when you need it. Thopter Arrest puts troublesome creatures in lockdown, much like Stasis Snare.
