I would take out the Volcanic Geyser for a different burn spell or 2 more creatures.

I have yet to fully playtest this build out, i do like having an X spell lying around, but i suppose i can at most get 4 to 5 damage out of it

i would recommend using Hellrider , very good if you have a lot of creatures attacking

+1 from me fellow Ryan! Always love a good aggro stomper. I'm a little more blue these days myself, running AEtherling in my These go up to 11..., but this deck reminds me of my goblins I used to run during the scars and zendikar standard and I loved that deck! And I'm sure theros will bring some awesome spells to replace the ones rotating out.
I would definitely swap Glaring Spotlight to the SB in exchange for Mizzium Mortars and maybe replace the 2 Ogre Battledriver with Shiv's Embrace or bring back Volcanic Geyser as an alternate win-con. There's a lot of board wipe out there to stop aggro decks from stomping across with creatures... Always good to have another way to end the game. :)

Thanks Anasi. I removed the Glaring Spotlight 's and added in the MM, per your suggestion. I really dont need to keep players from blocking with creatures, as mine normally will have first strike, trample, and additional power.
As for the Ogre Battledriver , the jury is still out, but i do like getting it to turbo finish off an already floundering player.

This reminds me of Saito Gruul a lot! That's another deck I love! +1 from me.

Chandra's Phoenix is way too good to not use main-board. I would take out Awaken the Ancient and Firefist Striker to add a playset of the Phoenix and a Mutavault . Awaken the Ancient is too slow and clunky for this type of deck and Firefist Striker just isn't aggressive enough.
Actually, I'd have 2 Mutavault s in the deck. They're just creatures to use when you have nothing to play for the turn.

I'd take out the Boros Reckoner , it's a great card, but it's not fast enough for RDW. Chandra's Phoenix is, and you can get it back. If you take out the Boros Reckoner , you can fit in Mutavault with out much of a problem. I'm not sure about Ratchet Bomb in the SB, but I can guarantee you don't need Vandalblast in your SB, who's playing Artifacts?
Boros Reckoner is fantastic against other aggro decks, I'd take out Vandalblast (maybe 1-2 other cards) and put hum in the SB.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
I'm not sure how valuable the Mutavault would be in my deck. If I was sharing abilities between a specific race, sure, but as of right now, not sure.
The fact that I only have 4 direct damage spells, negates the value of the Phoenix to me to a point. Unless I had multiple in my GY of it, I do not see it making a huge impact.
I do agree to a point that the Reckoner is a bit out of place right now. My Sideboard is just theoretical at the moment, much like this post rotation deck. The final sideboards will vary, to be sure.
July 30, 2013 3:08 p.m.
The Phoenix is a 2/2 Haste with Flying. That's already good enough. And getting it back at all would just be extra value. There's a reason people use it in RDW and win with it.
Mutavault doesn't need to share creature types with anything. It's a 2/2 that you can use when there's nothing else to use.

Thanks again for all of the feedback everyone! I will for sure be switching up the Boros Reckoner for the Chandra's Pheonix, and making more changes soon. I am traveling at the moment, and havent had much time to muse about MTG, but I will be back in it to win it soon.
While you are here, check out my Legacy Deck, R/G Legacy and let me know what you think!

Hey everyone, a fresh update on this deck!
I thought about using Volcanic Geyser , but with my mana curve and the attempted speed of this deck, by turn 6 I am either out of gas or close to a win, and i can only get 3 damage most out of this. I removed these and added back 2 Boros Reckoner to even out my mana curve.
I presume I will add the M14 Chandra at some point, but this deck is pretty speedy up front, and I enjoy it quite a bit! Please playtest and enjoy!

mindsparker and burning earth will do you wonders against most 3 colored decks.

Thanks for the replies! I think Burning Earth for sure does have a place in the SB or even the main deck. I will have to dwell on it.

That will for sure be added once the set is out! 4 mana for a 6/5, PLUS the army power pump and the triggered ability per creature you cast is amazing. It will probably take the place of my Awaken the Ancient 's i have in the deck.
Still waiting on a complete spoiler list.

question: why only 2 Boros Reckoner ? also, seems all your devotion to red would make for a nice Fanatic of Mogis , hitting the opponent for 5, 6+

also; if you're a fan of scry and use Dynacharge , i think you ought to consider Titan's Strength .

Thanks Grim. The Recokners are in there still because i have yet to remove them from this listing. I am going to remove those and a Legion Loyalist and put in 3 Minotaur Skullcleaver

Also, Dynacharge shines since I have multiple creatures out at one time, and its overload ability adds in quite a bit of damage.

Please feel free to comment all you would like. I am more focused on post rotation standard than anything else.
