Learned a bit tonight about what my deck wants to do with certain opponents, I had tried swapping out a forest for a third maindeck denial and I think it was the right choice. It was probably a mistake to go down to two anyways.
Making room for Monastery Siege in the Sideboard for dealing with control, along with a third Surrak Dragonclaw for the same reason. Sagu Mauler is a better threat once he's down, but Surrak is better at catching up.
Ranger's Guile is a neat trick, but it's a one-for-one answer and it's just that - an answer. I am a very strong believer in the quote "While there are wrong answers, there are no wrong threats." I'm looking at replacing it with another 3 or 4-drop beater, maybe another Satyr and Polukranos would be in order, or maindeck Shaman of the Great Hunt - he's just a great card, a little below my preferred P/T scale for the mana cost, but I could easily see him taking over a game fairly quick. All my successful attacks make my guys that much nastier, and card advantage in a stalled boardstate.
Not regretting my decision to swap Xenagod for Temur Battle Rage at all, having that instant-speed double strike/trample is a nasty trick in the wings, that's so easy to leave up going into combat without telegraphing it.
