Fiendslayer Paladin --> Sideboard // +1 Desecration Demon // +2 Devour Flesh // Doom Blade --> Sideboard // +1 Hero's Downfall // -1 Ultimate Price
As much as I love it, I've decided to remove Fiendslayer Paladin from the maindeck in favor of increasing consistency slightly, augmented by the addition of a fourth Desecration Demon
Devour Flesh is mainly a concession to Sylvan Caryatid. Against the decks that run Courser/Caryatid, I need to be able to make a decent dent in their life total as early as possible, and Sylvan Caryatid stops me in my tracks. (Courser, while also very defensive, I can hit with all my other removal). Devour Flesh also allows me to have a card in my maindeck that interacts with Blood Baron of Vizkopa. I have considered Celestial Flare instead, but being able to cast the edict on turn 2 if need be (assuming I have it) is important enough that I don't want to have to count on having two white sources. I could tweak the mana base slightly to help that (probably -1 Temple of Malady//+1 Temple Garden), but I don't want to remove any black sources so that I can cast Hero's Downfall and Desecration Demon on time.
