Playtesting... how about just 1 or two Swamps for Evolving Wilds to fetch? I am currently in a red mana flood with two Falkenrath Aristocrat s ready to go, and I was releieved to get the Wilds, only to find they couldn't help me...

I'm still playing a little with the mana for this deck. The evolving wilds used to be two Rakdos Guildgate s but i thought the Evolving Wilds would be better because they reduce the number of lands in the library. I'll try it with the swamps. Or maybe one Swamp and a Mountain . The mana curve this site is showing is a little off because its counting the Rakdos Cackler s as both black and red symbols and it isn't counting the Cavern of Souls or Evolving Wilds as either.

What about going up to 23 lands. I'm still not sure 22 is best.

Hey man, you asked me for some feedback so here goes:

How about some Brimstone Volley 's or other nukes to add some direct damage? Direct damage is a great way to recover a game if the opponent has the board locked down. It also doubles as creature removal and player hate; 2 things this deck seems very interested in.

For your land situation I would sideboard or drop the Cavern of Souls all together. Your creature types are too diverse for them. 22 is a good number if your CMC cap is 4 as well since you were asking. Maybe go down to 1 card:Rogue's Passage and add at least one swamp if you are going to run Evolving Wilds as Long_Con pointed out.

Have you considered Traitorous Blood instead of Mark of Mutiny in case you have no sacrifice outlet. I know its double red but doesn't beef it up if you have to give it back.

Anyways food for thought, thanks for your input on my deck as well :D

@Ixthinon Thanks for the great advice! I really like Brimstone Volley especially for the creature hate but i don't know what i'd remove. Also I think the Vexing Devil s and Hellhole Flailer s might be enough player damage?

The reason i have the Cavern of Souls is that they're faster than guildgates or Evolving Wilds . I usually just use them to play whatever creature i need to get out that turn. After that they're usually just for colorless unless i'm fortunate enough to use them for a vampire. Also the Human and the Ogre are both warriors,so really there are only three creature types Devil, Warrior and Vampire. Is this too much?

Do you really not like the card:Rogue's Passage. I feel like it gives me an alternative to sacking a creature for Falkenrath Aristocrat especially on a 5th turn when i don't draw a creature and it pairs very nicely with Stromkirk Noble as well.

Lol did i forget to add a swamp?

I think you're right on using Traitorous Blood over Mark of Mutiny . Plus the double red isn't much of a problem for this deck especially if i remove the caverns and/or card:Rogue's Passage.

The card:Rogue's Passage is decent but its something that's good once in a while and other times it can be a hindrance when you need 2 red for Ash Zealot 's or you need a black mana source etc.

LOL yeah, that's what I was saying... I tried to fetch a needed Swamp during the playtest, and there were none in the deck!
