The Deck v2.5

This deck, a far off echo of my first deck, began as the Magic Origins Demonic Deals Intro Deck. With some suggestions from Reddit, you handsome folk, a lot of hours in gatherer, and 10 dollars in hand, I've been evolving it. I've only been playing since August 2015 so any help would be appreciated! I can't afford some of the more expensive cards, so keep that in mind, I just hope to win a game or two at FNM. I do consider this my pet deck, and I've been gravitating towards a suicide aggro deck since the start, probably always will. Black/Red are my favorite colors in and out of magic as well! Mardu colors it is.

Well it happened finally, I added fetch lands. I won a prize pack at FNM, traded it out for a KTK pack, and pulled a Bloodstained Mire with a foil rare right behind it! It's still budget technically!

Battle For Zendikar And Oath of The Gatewatch

Honestly, BFZ doesn't do much for my deck, landfall is awesome but the deck functions with a small mana base. The Eldrazi could make scions for more tokens and extra mana, so mix that in as you see fit. The one card I could see in this deck easily, and a card that I really want a full playset of is Drana, Liberator of Malakir. A great card that will make your goblins STRONK for another wincon without Butcher of the Horde or Impact Tremors. Personally, I would add her, and you should too. UPDATE: Zulaport Cutthroat is AWESOME, pick him up while he's still hot! As far as future sets, I would say that this deck is complete until the next rotation. I hope you like it!

The Idea v2.0

v2.5 updates below.

The deck is revamped! Again again! I made a lot of changes since this made it to the top 3 decks, primarily splashing white has been the biggest ground shaker. Nantuko Husk is no longer what I rely on to win games, Impact Tremors has shown time and time again its value in whittling down the opponent until I can get out Butcher of the Horde. Now with more one drops, Lightning Berserker and Mardu Shadowspear both make sure I'm procing Impact Tremors constantly with their dash ability. Bloodsoaked Champion can also be sacced multiple times and raided back in for more impact damage and for feeding Butcher of the Horde. Impact Tremors on turn 2 is ideal, letting Dragon Fodder zap for 2, and Hordeling Outburst becomes a Lightning Bolt while also making ammo for Butcher of the Horde. Mardu Ascendancy also makes use of dashing granting haste, every dashed creature will fire off Impact Tremors for the ETB damage, the attack following will create a goblin token granting another point of ETB damage, and then the dashed card will go straight back to your hand to repeat the cycle again. All while the fresh new gobbies get eaten up by Butcher of the Horde for excellent perks like lifesteal and vigilance.

v2.5 Additions:

Reduced down to 21 lands to fit 2 Zulaport Cutthroats and 2 Brutal Hordechiefs. I consider the two of them similar enough in effect that two of each is like having 4 of one card. They both steal life though for different reasons... and one is a mythic that costs 4cmc BUT THAT'S BESIDES THE POINT. You'll see at least one of them enough, but in the case of Brutal Hordechief, not too often that you can't afford to play it. with a total of 6 cards in the whole deck at 4 cmc, the highest cost, 21 lands has felt very right. In my LGS and on MTGO, I've had a respectable amount of wins.

Once again, I hope you enjoy it!

The Cards v2.5

Lightning Berserker - A simple one drop creature that can boost its attack if necessary. Works amazingly with Impact Tremors guaranteeing at least one point of damage every time she lands on the field, plus haste to throw down goblins with Mardu Ascendancy.

Butcher of the Horde - The big daddy of my deck, an almost unfairly efficient card. The most expensive cmc in the deck at , he's a 5/4 flier that can sac for a choice between haste, lifelink, and vigilance. Yes, you can sac three creatures for all three, and certainly there will be creatures to sac with all your one drops and goblins spawned with Dragon Fodder + Hordeling Outburst + Mardu Ascendancy .

Brutal Hordechief - The newest member to the gang, he can pack a punch. Partners in crime along with Zulaport Cutthroat, he can put you far enough ahead in an all out offensive when you swing with all your goblins in terms of life, if you don't outright kill your opponent. If you also have Zulaport Cutthroat out, that's even more lifesteal for every goblin that dies in the process. If you use his ability, you could even force your opponent to not block at all!

Zulaport Cutthroat - Entering the fray alongside Brutal Hordechief, his lifesteal can be triggered when you go all in with your goblins, inevitably losing a few in the process. My personal favorite is activating his ability as you sacrifice goblins to Butcher of the Horde, very satisfying. He also makes your opponent think twice about using board wipes on your goblins with cards like End Hostilities.

Bloodsoaked Champion - A fantastic one drop creature. If you have 2 mana, he's practically going to stay on your field indefinitely, and can be sac'd multiple times to Butcher of the Horde. Raiding him back in will also activate Impact Tremors of course.

Mardu Shadowspear - Honestly here only because I like her as a 1 drop creature, which my deck needed more of, and just a better Thornbow Archer with dash. A more expensive dash than Lightning Berserker , but 2 damage on turn one would probably be considered rude. Can end a game even if she gets blocked. Also I got a full playset of the game day promos.

Scab-Clan Berserker - She's back! She is still especially handy if you can get her renowned. Look for an opening and put her haste to use, she deals 2 damage to your opponent for every noncreature spell they cast only after she's renowned!

Ultimate Price - A useful removal spell, chosen for being cheap. Can't deal with multi-color creatures or colorless, so watch out for the Eldrazi in BFZ, look to Crackling Doom here.

Crackling Doom - A great Mardu removal spell. Deals 2 damage and forces your opponent to sacrifice their strongest creature in terms of power, or choose one if there's a tie. Generally will kill what you need dead, if not, look to Ultimate Price.

Dragon Fodder - Good source of goblin tokens as ammo for Butcher of the Horde and procs ETB damage with Impact Tremors. Keep the pressure on! Devastating if more than one Impact Tremors is on the field.

Hordeling Outburst - Here by popular demand, just even MORE goblins! A free Lightning Bolt with 3 gobs when paired with Impact Tremors, and very satisfying when you're tossing out tokens.

Mardu Ascendancy - My white splash, when you start attacking with your nontoken creatures, this enchantment spits goblins out. Your second source of goblin tokens for Butcher of the Horde + Impact Tremors !

Impact Tremors - Amazing pressure on your opponent with all these goblin tokens popping out, great with any creature that has dash, like Lightning Berserker and Mardu Shadowspear . Raiding Bloodsoaked Champion back into the field procs it as well, all around great way to whittle yourself to victory, even easier with 2 or more on the field.

Infinite Obliteration - A great card if you're running black. After your first game, obviously slip in to delete their biggest hitter by turn three ideally.

Wild Slash - Switch out with Scab-Clan Berserker or Brutal Hordechief to speed up your deck. Kill speedy bears, or chip away at your opponents life for a flashy win.

Roast - Great card to deal with any big baddies on the ground, cheap and quick, switch out with Ultimate Price if they have a lot of multi color creatures on the ground.

Duress - Good to deal with removal-centered decks. Doesn't need to be swapped in often but it's nice to have available.

Deflecting Palm - When dealing with huge creatures, I normally switch this out for Scab-Clan Berserker and Brutal Hordechief just like I do with Wild Slash and set up a defensive wall with my goblins. When the enemy swings for massive damage, break this out for a huge game winning turn-around. Doctors hate him for it.
