I am very fond of the phrase "each opponent loses life." And on a card like Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, that phrase is just too good to turn down. I also have been wanting to create an EDH deck that exploits the graveyard as a resource, and Jarad presented a wonderful opportunity to create a sacrifice-and-reanimation-centric deck that is powerful, but still plays fair.

The principle of this deck is simple: play utility creatures who have an ETB effect or a death trigger (importantly: the mana rampers such as Farhaven Elf and Viridian Emissary) and sacrifice them for fun and profit (usually by way of Jarad, but I have also included Ashnod's Altar, Disciple of Bolas, and Phyrexian Tower as my other favorite sac outlets). Then I bring them back with reanimation effects (the new Deadbridge Chant is definitely my favorite-- almost everything in my graveyard is something I'd be happy to have back, so the randomness is more fun than risky) to use them again.

To this end, many of the utility creatures are small and come down early, so I can get their effect while sapping my opponents in small bits that don't seem too significant. Once I get going, however, I can drop my Worldspine Wurm and Dread Cacodemon, and other impactful fatties of their ilk, to make my mark on the game (and hopefully winning in the process).

This deck is playing slowly but effectively right now. Like a steamroller, once it gets going it is difficult to stop. However, I'm starting to think that it might help this deck if it could get lots of cards directly to the graveyard faster. Any opinions on that, and any other advise pertaining to the deck (and, of course, +1s) is greatly appreciated.

Oh, and Twilight's Call, while effective, will soon be replaced by the manifold bomby-er Rise of the Dark Realms.

Enjoy!
