Saffi Blast

Modern

DWSBlade

This is a deck I've been toying around with recently. I was particularly intrigued by the various decks that have been playing around Saffi + Sun Titan/Renegade Rallier and I wanted to see what tricks I could pull off with it. My first thought was to combo it with something like Ashnod's Altar (not in modern of course) and then use the mana for the win, but then I discovered Blasting Station, a card I had no idea existed, and then the Melira Company player in me went crazy.

Saffi + Tita/Rallier + Blasting Station

The advantages to the combo: Instakill if your opponent can't interact. Plus destruction doesn't always work: Saffi can be in your graveyard or in play so long as you have something to trigger rallier or just have a titan, and if it's titan that's coming in then blasting station can be in your graveyard as well. I've found that it just feels more resiliant than Melira Company. Also because you can combo with both Titan and Rallier there's a great deal of redundancy in the combo. Further more Titan and Rallier are great on their own because they can replay fetches or get back value cards.

Other tech I'm trying: Greater Good: This was something I included in my first build of the deck to filter through the deck. I'm trying to find a replacement for it, or just go down it and sacrifice the ability to draw an infinite number of cards.

Birds/Hierarch: I would prefer Hierarchs but I built this on MTGO first where I don't own Hierarchs, but they would undoubtedly be better than Birds since it's all the same colors.

Wall of Omens: Just an all around good card.

Trophy Mage: Better than Fabricate because it has a body (so eldritch and chord can search it up as well) and we're only searching for 3 drops. Something may be better, but I'm unsure.

Other tech I'm not trying, but interested in:

Other color splashes besides blue: blue is literally only in there for trophy mage, and potential sideboard options. There is perhaps a better way to consistently find blasting station without blue which could be better.

Other cards that have intersting potential are Impact Tremors and pretty much anything that triggers when a creature enters or leaves the battlefield because you can create an infinite amount of those.

Problems:

GD/Rest in Peace: Not a whole lot to say here. These cards are as good as they usually are against decks like this. A sufficient number of sideboard artifact/enchantment hate cards (which white green has plenty of) have done the trick for me.

Leyline of Sanctity: This isn't actually as bad as I expected it to be. If our opponent kept their hand based on the merits of Leyline then we just take advantage of our creatures to swing in. Plus the same hate cards apply here.
