Hangarback Walker doesn't work with Nim Deathmantle, because reanimating it means X=0 Still very interesting concept: I'll 100% try to tinker with it and I'm thankful that someone is exploring this aspect of Saheeli instead of the Eldrazi route

Hakkai_Requiem: you are absolutly right, this doesn't work. I've changed the description on this point. Thank you for your kindly words, hope you'll enjoy your playing time with this deck.

I agree with Hakkai_Requiem too often I see people default to building Eldrazi in anything that does creature cost reduction. I just like having one as a back up plan for being milled to death. I thought about building this deck honestly but I had just built a storm artifact deck with Jhoira so... Maybe I'll still do it.

DrkNinja Thank you! Sometimes it's good to try anything new and think outside the box. But in other cases it's not easy to stay on the intended way. Maybe it's too obvious for Saheeli to build a deck around a full artifact theme..

Is there a reason why [Solemn Simulacrum] wasn't included? I would think that it'll be a great inclusion to retrieve out all your lands and draw cards
September 2, 2019 11:34 a.m.
michaeltjin: Thank you for your comment, Solemn Simulacrum is indeed a very interesting card. I don't want just to explain why I skipped this creature, because there are some good reasons to give this card a place in the deck. First he (or it) gives some additional mana available in the early game. There are some recursion options with Daretti, Scrap Savant, Goblin Welder,... to get an additional boost in the mid- or endgame. Especially the card draw is an ability worth to consider, which is very important for this deck.
I exclude the Solemn Simulacrum for several factors. In an ideal case the commander Saheeli, the Gifted should be placed on the battlefield as soon as possible. Both cards have 4 mana to pay for - therefor the priority lies on the planeswalker. Except for the draw trigger there are not that much connections with other cards in the deck on how the own game development should happen. Primary target is to get the combination pieces on the board.
But as earlier mentioned it's absolutely reasonable to give him a try.

Kuldotha just says sac 3 artifacts. He himself can be one of those 3

Thank you! You actually gave me a lot of clarification for KCI loops, mana generation and such, with this deck! I have an artifact deck, but until recently I didn't own a KCI, so I didn't put much thought into its combos, this list helps a bunch. Also, it sure looks like a super cool deck to play.
I do have two suggestions for the deck still. One of them is Rings of Brighthearth, which is a bit a pricy card, but a bonkers one. It single handedly makes infinite mana with Basalt Monolith, and enables a bunch of other loops and combos with stuff like Voltaic Key. The other suggestion is Aetherflux Reservoir, and I know, it's the same thing all over again, but sometimes they exiled my few win cons, and this looks like a really good one, infinitely looping stuff in and out of the graveyard

Well, first thank you, I really appreciate your opinion and your suggestion! The deck is very well to play and an easy going, I'm personally pleased on how smooth this deck works.
Rings of Brighthearth are for sure an interesting addition. I would definitely give it a try. Sadly I don't own a copy of this card and because of the deck runnig well I have actually no further intention for playing this Artifact. Nearly the same is for Aetherflux Reservoir.
But you are right, those are really good fits for this deck. Thinking of power level, I can imagine that both Rings of Brighthearth and Aetherflux Reservoir will power up the deck as long as you keep the basic strategies. I'm thankful, if my description gives you some ideas.

Short question but I'm curious why thopter assembly is kept in. The tokens aren't created until your next upkeep so it can't be abused like pentavus, myr battlesphere, or wurmcoil engine in their respective combos. Am I missing something obvious?
Has it performed well for you because in my experience thopter assembly on the board for a whole turn attracts the wrong kind of attention as it's obviously there to pump saheeli ability when it calls for back up and runs back to my hand.

Yeah, you are somehow right. This card is not that aggressive, but what I've experienced the opponents have to deal with this threat very soon when entering the battlefield. Think of the turn when this card comes into play (e.g. in the midgame or endgame), maybe there are some bigger threats on the table. Thopter Assembly can get overlooked too. In respect to my playgroup and because of the performance so far this card is going to stay in the deck until a reasonable replacement is found (by staying at the same power level).
I'm sure Thopter Assembly is more on the casual side and may for sure be swapped for Wurmcoil Engine to power up the deck. But thanks pscwizard for your thoughts, this is a very interesting point.

Have you thought about running Dalakos, Crafter of Wonders?
June 23, 2020 11:07 a.m.
coolguy0723 Thought about it, but in my opinion this card doesn't fit in well. Normally you want to play Saheeli herself on Turn 3 and there are not many equipments in the deck as well to use Dalakos, Crafter of Wonders second ability. And getting some extra mana from Dalakos isn't that efficient too, this deck doesn't depend on it really that much because of Saheeli, the Gifted's abilities. Also Vedalken Engineer has the same effect for just 2 Mana... But thank you for your suggestion, I really appreciate it!

Love the deck my only curiosity is why no Goblin Engineer?

Cybird13 Thank you for this suggestion, this is really a good idea. I give it a try, maybe switch it in for Chaos Warp or Mind Spring.

I love this deck. My wife play this list. She really loved. I have a windgrace and is really shitty. Have you a list of windgrace? Congratulation

dgobass Thank you so much and best wishes to your wife. I don't have a Windgrace-deck unfortunately .

Hey thom-le, really like your direction with this list! I promise this isn't just a shameless deck plug, but your list runs a very similar combo line to the Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain deck I made here https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/jhoira-trailer-park-supervisor-cedh/.
Sai, Master Thopterist, Walking Ballista, Words of Wind and Reckless Fireweaver are a few ideas that come to mind, but there are a to of great options in your list already!
Feel free to disregard my rambling, just wanted to show support for a fellow Izzet Artificer!

PabloEsco666: thanks for sharing your deck, I also see many common strategies between Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain and Saheeli, the Gifted. Both are related very much to artifacts and play some sort of combination to win the game. However, my deck is not crafed as an cEDH deck, although you have many nice ideas included in your Jhoira, Trailer Park Supervisor [cEDH]-deck I might be consider for sure!
I like your deck as well and yeah - let Izzet Artifacts rock the house! ;)

So if you're going for a build like this, and not the atypical ramp into eldrazi, I think you should play Daretti, Scrap Savant and probably Memnarch . Also Meteor Golemn is garbage, play Spine of Ish Sah .
If you want to take a look at a good list of artifacts and red cards for artifact decks take a look at my artifact deck, Scrapyard Wars! ft. Daretti.
Also I really do think you should play at LEAST ONE or two eldrazi; Kozilek, Butcher of Truth would be a good go to, but I am very fond of Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger .
