FWIW, I run 3x Commune with the Gods and 1x Dig Through Time, which get me fairly consistently either the Assault Formation, or Whip of Erebos, or the Silumgars, or Torrent Elemental. Commune helps setting the graveyard for Dig Through Time or MB/SB Murderous Cut, and bringing back a creature with the whip, which can be copied with Kin-Tree Invocation or brought back from exile if it is the Torrent Elemental...

Hi MinscAndBoo I liked this deck so much that I'm actually building it tonight. Any Ideas on how to make it even stronger if someone could afford to spend a little bit more on this deck?

I'm quite new to magic and my Deck Building skill sucks so I'm just currently looking for decks that I like and copying them to build.

Crysteps if you have some extra money you could get a playset of Courser of Kruphix because they become a 4/4 for 3!

Hi Crysteps, glad you like the deck! Let's see...if you want to take advantage of Theros cards before they rotate this fall, you could use Commune with the Gods to dig deeper for Assault Formation. Also there's the scrylands (e.g., Temple of Deceit) which could replace the lifegain lands. Courser of Kruphix could help you get there as well, also Sylvan Caryatid.

Have fun with the deck, would be curious to hear how it goes. I haven't had a chance to battle-test this thing yet!

Just played this deck at fnm went 2-1 sadly didn't get the promo but it definitely was a strong contender probably gonna look to add some Shape the Sands and tweak it a bit but otherwise awesome deck man.

Your version of this deck seems a lot better than my one. I am definitely going to change mine based around yours.

I have been working on my own version of this deck as well. Now that I have seen your one I need to make some changes.

Just tried this at Game day, generally the results would be for each game was 1-2 (in all, I ended up with 1-5). This was seriously a fun deck though, I ended up subbing in 2x Whip of Erebos and a Collected Company. Whip of Erebos was just beautiful (managed to get 70+ life at one point), somehow managed to spend the entire 40 minutes on one game and still managing to lose to an infinite combo on turn 4 in overtime.

SirRanbow Dang, sorry to hear this didn't rock more socks on Game Day. Thank you for giving it a spin! It makes sense it's it a bit underpowered in the current meta--it's basically a block deck. I hope Zendikar adds some juicy butts.

Good idea with Whip of Erebos and Collected Company...gain so much life once the Ass is online!

I bet we could improve it with some of the switchouts mentioned earlier, too, things like Commune with the Gods, while they're a thing.

MinscAndBoo Don't be sorry, that was literally the most fun I've had with a deck, I plan to main this for a bit and see what comes up. Generally on the third game I would only just lose due to a top deck or my own miscalculation/ missing triggers. The games I did win though were within 4-6 turns and was it glorious! The look on their face once they realised I have effectively a 4/4 and a 6/6 turn 3 is just priceless. But yeah, once rotation kicks in I have really high hopes for this deck. I'll keep you posted as to how FNM goes.

I have spare Whip of Erebos and spare Collected Company

Would you put them in the deck if you would have only 1 copy of each? and if you would, what cards would you replace with them?

I really like this. I tried to build something similar a while back but I didn't know how to go about it. I think I have most of this deck so I'm gonna build it. Great build.

Check out my deck A Good Offense is a Great Defense. We have a lot of similar cards in out decks but also quite a bit of differences and I'm really looking for someone to help me out a little more. And who best than the number 1 slot with Assault Formation.

I love this deck! Although, this deck isn't "Post-Ratation", for Khans and Fate are rotating out. This is from the new two sets per block system.

MinscAndBoo, have you seen the bfz spoilers? I was looking today and would suggest silent skimmers, benthic infiltrators, and jaddi offshoots for this deck.

This deck is really fun and hilarious, and I did fairly well in "Just for Fun" games but in Constructed competitive (MTGO) I got wiped in two games in a row to Dragons and fliers $300+ decks was really disappointing.

The tap lands made the combos convenient but extremely slow especially against decks who are ramping. Any suggestions to combat those multicolored creatures?

Thanks for trying the deck, ghostdesigns! Glad it's been fun. Having not actually taken this to a tournament I can't say for sure what would be best...maybe Languish, Plummet, or Grim Contest to replace Sultai Charm?

Hi, here are my imho suggestions:

Swap Monastery Flock with Tide Drifter, you gain an early attacker despite losing flying (but it dodges Ultimate Price and protection from blue)

Swap Disowned Ancestor for 2x Silumgar, the Drifting Death and 2x Torrent Elemental. These 2 should grant you a lot of victories, as they are hard to get rid off and swing for 7 and 5 with evasion.

The big rotation loss of this archetype for me is Triton Tactics... Shape the Sands or Send to Sleep are sub-par replacements, but Torrent Elemental does a similar job in leaving them defenceless...

I'd definitely include Languish maindeck. Block their critters with your superior butts until you can drop Languish, even if sometimes your Sidisi's Faithfuls will also die... (I used them oftentimes as Unsummon and then brought them back with Whip of Erebos)...

Save for maybe Languish, I think the other suggestions keep the budget tag...
