My friend made a new format for MTG, just to shake it up:

*Main decks are limited to 40 cards, with a max of 3 copies per card.

*There is a separate "zone" for basic lands (hence the land zone). The land zone is spread out and categorized like monopoly money. -Every turn you can choose to draw a card from the main deck, or select any basic land from the land zone and put it into your hand. -There is no limit to the amount or kind of basic lands in the land zone.

*At the beginning of the game, both player's first turns allow them a draw phase.

*There is no limit to the kind of cards for the main deck (*although, for sportsmanship's sake, don't abuse this rule... it's all about respect)

*Any effects for "your library" affects your main deck (so mill decks do not mill from the land deck). It makes sense, because lands aren't spells. Once you have no cards left in your library, during your draw phase, you lose the game.

Anyone else interested? Make a deck in this format. It may not seem so, but there is more skill, less luck involved, and more fun in this format than all other MTG formats IF AND ONLY IF the decks playing against each other are built well balanced, respectful, and non-linear in strategy.
