So I really wanted to build a mono black life gain deck, on a budget. It mainly focuses around devotion, and the bogbrew combos. Some help would be nice and some critical feedback :)The bread and butter revolves around removing their creatures while gaining life, and then passively healing them to death. For example if you have a Sanguine Bond and a
Festering Newt
Combo ready, then you play Grey Merchant of Asphodel thats a whopping 16 damage while you gain 8 life and potentially remove a creature. This deck also controls like a motherfucker, half the time they cant keep there creatures out. It works best against midrange decks and mana ramp decks. Selesnya Aggro running Voice of Resurgence is the weakpoint of this deck but honestly you can still win. Yes this deck is original, there is no deck out there that is like this. There may be some that have the same concept but none quite like mine advice and criticism is always welcome and remember to upvote the deck if you liked it enjoy!

Removal
4x Doom Blade. This card is the king of removal dont need to comment on it it kills everything non black, oh they are playing black well sideboard in Dark Betrayal .
3x Ultimate Price, mainly mono colored? Great then this kills everything it works well and worst case scenario you sideboard it out.
4x Dark Betrayal As I stated above this is one of the sideboard picks for to switch out your doomblades, even if they are splashing black probably good to sideboard in.
3xDevour Flesh if they have hexproof or that nasty Blood Baron of Vizkopa then just slap that down, worst case scenario they gain 2-5 life, but with Erebos, God of the Dead it turns this card into Diabolic Edict cool huh?
2x Ratchet Bomb, Mainly against tokens and weenie, because tokens have a CMC of 0 and most weenies have a CMC of 1-3.
Creatures
2x Bogbrew Witch , helps get out those newts, and those cauldrons, debating whether or not to add 2 back in instead of having 2 crypt ghast, feedback needed.
4x Festering Newt , why not? 1 drop that trades well turn one and can be turned into a 4-8 damage bomb that removes those damn Stormbreath Dragons that can pop up.
4x Grey Merchant of Asphodel Such a good card and has made mono black much more viable. Dont need to say much but if you have sanguine bond out with this bad boy, it ends games.
2x Crpyt Ghast need feedback on whether or not I should keep these.
2x Desecration Demon we dont need a playset because we are not aggressive but 2 is enough, they are mainly because once he is out he puts a clock on the game, you either sac a creature and stall or take 6 to the face. DESTROYS white weenie decks seriously also 2 devotion aint bad.
1x Erebos, God of the Dead works really well with devotion, honestly we dont need more than one in this deck so its fine with just one. Nice card draw and the passive is awesome.
Enchantments/Sorcery
3x Corrupt , so this is almost always 6 damage removal which is cool, but if you have sanguine bond out you can end a game VERY quickly! To put it this way you play sanguine bond then grey merchant the turn after, so that's about 8 damage already done, then you play corrupt and end for 14 damage.
2x Whip of Erebos, so we arent going to be using the lifelink portion very often(unless desecration demon is out on the field) but the 4 mana ability is awesome for when you need that newt or gary back on the field to end the game.
2x Dark Prophecy this is 3 devotion and we are sacrificing a lot of creatures, so that's a lot of card draw. So many people complain that losing one life each time is bad but come on its one fucking life you are gaining so much in this deck and one life is more than worth it for a card.
3x Sanguine Bond reason why this deck exists, such a fun card and it wins me every game.
On a side note im not adding Tavern Swindler so stop fucking asking!
