Okay, so I've always been attempting to make a unique competitive mill deck for modern, and I think I might have finally hit gold (don't quote me). Essentially how this deck works is similar to a draw-go turbofog strategy, in that you are halting your opponent's actions as much as possible while casting your major mill spells, such as Archive Trap and
Sanity Grinding
. The best part is, by throwing in four Leyline of Anticipations, you can flash in all your spells.
The deck plays slowly, and forces your opponent(s) to play to your speed, by using free/cheap counterspells, bounces, and refilling your hand with Day's Undoing which is an even more amazing card when given flash. The beauty of Day's at flash speed is it will allow you to respond to spells with a fresh full hand of cards, which will likely contain one of the many counterspells.
You may ask why I run multiples of Leylines and Chancellor of the Spires. The answer is simple. There's a better chance of having them in your opening hand. In addition, while playing this deck, you will hardly ever need to hard-cast them unless you are desperate, and they serve as good exile fuel for Commandeer.
Well, I'll probably make this description a bit more fancy later on, but the deck as a whole is pretty solid in my opinion. I could always use some tips to making the deck stronger and more competitive, so fire away. Hope you guys like it~
Sadly this isn't a budget deck, and a majority of the cards I don't have yet, so I'll be paying a hefty sum to get it built, but that will at least give me time to work out any kinks I run across before I splurge on it.
