Sap your opponents of their will to live

Commander / EDH Aristocrats BG (Golgari) Saproling Tokens

YooHoo

Maybeboard

This is the first deck I created after starting to play magic with my 2017 Vampiric Bloodlust Pre-con. Since then, I have found a love for saprolings and fungus, and when I saw Slimefoot I knew I needed to build a deck.

Very casual playgroup, one with the Inalla pre-con and another with the Arahbo pre-con, and they are both looking to upgrade in the near future.

One thing I thought was missing with the Edgar deck (among the many problems I had with "fixing it to my tastes") was the instant speed interaction between my creatures, like the things you do to gain value in response to a board wipe. Instead of trying to hone in my Edgar deck, I finally put this together.

The main strategy of this deck is to amass saprolings and out-value opponents, occasionally winning with Triumph of the Hordes, sap swarm, or going infinite with Ashnod's Altar and Illusionist's Bracers. I wanted to avoid relying on combos too much because I found myself not enjoying that style of play, but infinite saprolings is an entirely different story.

** UPDATE ** This used to be a more budget deck, the maybeboard are cards I removed to put in some of the more expensive cards I added, like Top, Orrery, and Volrath's Stronghold. Strategy is pretty similar, just with more way to ensure I can enact them. The introduction of Craterhoof allows for more consistent win-cons, and doubling season is on the way. Please let me know if you have any advice as it is well needed. Thanks!!
