This is for my weekly competitive (prize support, anyway) event. There is a mix of casual and competitive players. I have other comp decks but i liked Saskia as a non-blue deck for a change, packing in a little mainboard hate against blue, which is common. Most decks are somewhat slow, whether casual (budget or subpar tuning) or competitive (grindy control), so i thought 'fast' was a nice change. I also put it together that so most cards with opponents in some way, whether controlling options or removing permanents.

Some commanders that show up frequently that are problems (that is, this does not include commanders/players i normally roll over) are Brago stax, Edric tempo/control/aggro, Derevi stax, Grand Arbiter control, Oloro control, Azami combo, Ayli Ad Nauseam/Doomsday, Leovold, and Animar. This is also not representative of a sample of 8 players or anything either, as some of these decks are owned by the same players. There's about 3 'top players' i am concerned with and the weekly draws in about 9-12 persons a night.

Quantities by function:Mana: 9.Removal (on bodies): 6.Removal (spells): 11.Hatebears/Control: 12.Draw/Tutor/Cheat: 11.Recursion: 4.Planeswalkers (regardless of function): 4.Aggression: 7.Lands 35.Some obviously cover two categories. I keep Urabrask, Anafenza, and Kalitas under Hatebears, although they are all contributors to aggression.

You may notice some "missing" cards, such Ankle Shanker, that seem obvious choices and obviously in my budget. Please bring them up because i may not have considered it before, or i thought it would be awful in my meta. I can't list every card i've ever considered and turned down, so it's really worth asking. Shanker, from my example above, seems pretty terrible in my meta which is full of low creature count decks (slow midrange, control, combo) and I don't anticipate more than a blocker here or there. There are also no swarm/token decks for example, except Edric and Animar.Conversely, i'm sure a couple cards seem awful and narrow, but i think work in my meta's context. World Queller, for example, feels really powerful here since most decks are only going to a couple permanents out. Even decks that may swarm creatures will be affected by another card type picked on upkeep. Who knows, it may be too slow.

Please check my balance of effects, i'm trying to level the amount of removal i have. It seems quite high, but i felt like it needs to be quite high. Some of the decks i play against are extremely fast and can bring the game under their control by turn 5, although when top tier decks go against top tier decks it can become a grind and last 11 turns. But it remains, it's important to stop a Brago, Animar, or Edric that come down on turn 2/3.

Some cards i'm considering, such as Greater Good, Alesha, Skullclamp, and Custodi Soulcallers all depend on power/toughness/man cost. They are all so all over the place, that is, that i may not have the x/1's to powerfully draw of Clamp, or enough 2/x's for Alesha. I have a good deal of hatebear types under 3cmc that i could probably work in Soulcallers. Greater Good, kind of feels like neutral or negative card advantage, i have no flashy 6/x to pop.

Sideboard and maybeboard not complete.

Help me out here, and post me a link to a list you are working with and i will help you out there in return.
