I'm liking Hellrider , too. :-)
Raid Bombardment is another card that works really well with Chandra's Spitfire .

Never mind, just saw the flashback cost on Lingering Souls. Again, nice deck!

I'd replace Chandra's Spitfire with Chandra's Phoenix , but that's just me...

Take out your Intangible Virtue s for swords a Sword of Feast and Famine , Sword of Body and Mind , & a Sword of Fire and Ice .

again, i find myself agreeing Minousmancer. you only have 2 cards that shits out tokens, so why would you have an Intangible Virtue ? Honor of the Pure would be a good sub as well

MistaSlick, Honor of the Pure rocks, Intangible Virtue is great for HKQ decks, but that's not what this is...
February 20, 2012 2:56 p.m.
2/2 Flying vigilance sounds awesome.. that's why he has Intangible Virtue . And there are twelve cards total in the deck, so odds are pretty good he'll get a couple tokens out every game...
And Chandra's Spitfire is amazing here with the Hellrider ..... Everytime a creature attacks, it does 1 damage to a player and then buffs the Spitfire.
Just having a Spitfire and Hellrider swinging on turn four is like 10 damage, 7 in the air, and then an additional 2 damage from the Hellrider's ability. And if there are still a couple early drops to swing with it.. that buffs the Spitfire more... So if you slept on Spitfire turn three, it could be over on turn four.
Really like this deck idea. I've always preferred the Spitfire over the Phoenix.. +2342341

I like Phoenix just because it's like having 12 2/2 flying creatures in one deck, kinda like a shock with double Flashback.
February 20, 2012 3:09 p.m.
Yeah you're probably right... a 2/2 flyer is way better than 1/3 that could be like a 13/3 on turn four...

marshmelo point taken. the more i think about it the more Intangible Virtue works better here than Honor of the Pure . my question for Zeebadeeb is what format are you shooting for? or is this just for shits & giggles?

Phoenix is removal resistant, Spitfire is 'all or nothing'. It's all personal preference really.
This deck seems to be built around spitfire, so that is probably what he should go with.

How about a couple Raid Bombardment s to help your Spitfire a bit more?

Thanks for all the comments, guys. A lot of good feedback, which I'll try and answer here.
@ MistaSlick: No format for the time being. Going Standard would force me to drop a lot of the better cards in the deck, and I'm not too aware of any time playing other formats grants you competitive opportunites, except of course the Indi GP next month, which is playing Legacy, which is AWWWWEEESOME.
@ Minousmancer: I really like Chandra's Phoenix as well, but swapping it out with Chandra's Spitfire would turn this deck's potency waaaaay down. I'll consider other ways to squeeze it in though, because it'd basically be either in my hand or on the battlefield 24/7. Also, putting swords in this deck would be awesome, but expensive, and I'm just not sure if I'd wanna dish out the cash for casual lulz.
@ lbiedma: You are the second person to suggest Raid Bombardment and I really like the idea. I'm going to cut the Intangible Virtue s for it, because it would trigger every time a creature in this deck attacked, except Hellrider himself. Not to mention, the damage would be noncombat, as opposed to just a +1 buff to power on the Spirit tokens, so Chandra's Spitfire would get EVEN bigger. Now that I type out why this card should be in this deck I realize how much it breaks this deck. With two permanents feeding Chandra's Phoenix ' ability, and both of them being multi-triggered by attack declarations, and the added bonus of doulbing (or even trip/quadding) all of it with Curse of Bloodletting , this holds some devastating potential.

The more I look at this deck the more I see how Chandra's Spitfire is such a better fit, don't change anything.

Also, @ SwiftDeath, Lightning Helix is a great card, and I would run it in most Boros decks I'd think of building, but with this deck, I'd be better off spending the extra 2 mana on more creatures, rather than just to gain 3 life, because the aggro fuels my win combo.

@ Minousmancer: I know, that card is just great here. When I originally built the deck, it wasn't even in here, it was 4x Gather the Townsfolk , but when I went to pull apart my other red deck to get cards out of it for this one, I saw the Spitfires and thought, "OMGWTFLOLRIDER."
