Zeebadeeb I think this deck is awesome, I want to remake it in Black and Red(There is a long personal family related reason) I think it could be just as nice.

Go for it! Seriously, I've played a few decks in my day, and this one is just THE MOST FUN. And the consistency/potency is just nasty, and the BURST is DISGUSTING. They're not even threatened, because all you have is 3 1/1s and a 1/3 on turn 3, then all of the sudden you deal 27 damage turn 4...If it goes past turn 4, they better be packing some fog. If you do make that deck, make sure you link me to it. I'm gonna wanna see it.

Of course I'm going to link you. I link anyone who inspires a deck look at this: deck:the-order-of-elbrus

If you're going for red/black, you'll have access to Doom BladeMTG Card: Doom Bladeand Go for the ThroatMTG Card: Go for the Throat, as well as TerminateMTG Card: Terminate, which should give you a little more pump to Chandra's SpitfireMTG Card: Chandra's Spitfire and damage to the opponent's face with your Lightning BoltMTG Card: Lightning Bolts. I don't see you having to change too much going from Boros to Rakdos.

Man this deck is mean, you should try it with a few Assault StrobeMTG Card: Assault Strobe's. Double strike with Chandra's SpitfireMTG Card: Chandra's Spitfire also working off of HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider would deal massive damage.

This is a little like a red deck I was running, but I was using Prodigal PyromancerMTG Card: Prodigal Pyromancers and Cunning SparkmageMTG Card: Cunning Sparkmages and Koth of the HammerMTG Card: Koth of the Hammer to buff Chandra's SpitfireMTG Card: Chandra's Spitfire. This looks like it would work much better. Very nice, +1

I just realized that HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider is a devil riding an Ashmouth HoundMTG Card: Ashmouth Hound or that's what it looks like to me.

February 26, 2012 4:50 p.m.

Pheldra says... #9

That's exactly what it is. Forge DevilMTG Card: Forge Devil and Ashmouth HoundMTG Card: Ashmouth Hound.

Minousmancer says... #10

That's cool, in my opinion!

i have a standard version of this except it also uses artifacts, i have no clue what to take out and i haven't even put lands in hellriding tokens any help will be wonderful, +1 for the deck, but i feel like it doesn't need as many lands as it has, maybe 22 would be fine

February 26, 2012 6:43 p.m.

i still say urabrask would be good here, otherwise it looks good. maybe try out Ruthless InvasionMTG Card: Ruthless Invasion too? also removal like Lightning BoltMTG Card: Lightning Bolt, Arc TrailMTG Card: Arc Trail, or Oblivion RingMTG Card: Oblivion Ring could be used here.

February 26, 2012 6:53 p.m.

theonyc says... #13

i agree that urabrask would fit

Pheldra says... #14

I don't think that you really need Urabrask the Hidden MTG Card: Urabrask the Hidden . By the time you're at turn five, you should already be set up enough to win. Turn one you drop Doomed TravelerMTG Card: Doomed Traveler, then Gather the TownsfolkMTG Card: Gather the Townsfolk, then Chandra's SpitfireMTG Card: Chandra's Spitfire and finally HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider. I would agree that your land count is a little high and you can probably get away with twenty, but try it with twenty-two first and see how it feels. As for Oblivion RingMTG Card: Oblivion Ring, it might be a good sideboard card in case you're finding yourself against a deck with fliers that can pose a problem for your Spitfire either as a means to kill it or just block it in general.

Oblivion Ring > Silence on the sideboard. As far as far as land goes, I will run it with 22 later and see how it works. I like it as is, because I never have an issue, but if it will run with 20 or 21, that makes room for another mainboard 4 of. Probably Lightning BoltMTG Card: Lightning Bolts.

Also, I'll address the Urabrask thing now, because it's come up more than once. I don't think he'd be all that helpful, because every turn after turn 4-5 that I don't win, I'm laying down creatures, whether it be any combination of summonings I have for 1/1s, another Chandra's Spitfire, another HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider, or a Hero of BladeholdMTG Card: Hero of Bladehold. His abilities are great, I will admit, but 5 open mana can be so much fuel for the existing win push. Also, I'd have to cut something else...I might think about putting 2 in and running 22 lands. That way I'll feel like he's more of a "cherry on top" kind of card, rather than picking them up all the time, and feeling forced to get them in when it's maybe not the quickest and most viable option. Board haste and their last minute airborn saving graces entering tapped is pretty sexalicious, really.

February 27, 2012 7:32 a.m.

well, that's understandable. yes, 5 mana's a lot it aggro decks. i'd try it out with this site's playtester to see how it runs. if it doesn't fit, drop it for something smaller.

remember, everything looks better on paper.

theonyc says... #18

not always though, their are some really stupid looking decks that don't work on paper but in reality kick ass. +1

I'd like to use comment 69 to thank everybody again for all the great suggestions and support for this deck. If 100 card decks worked, I'd put in pretty much everything you guys brought up; a lot of good ideas got thrown around for this one. I can't believe how popular this deck has been, over 2000 views and 30 votes, and I don't even think it's been up a week. Thanks everybody!

February 27, 2012 3:25 p.m.

oh, you're welcome zeebadeeb :) i'm glad we helped you.myself, i've been working on my vampires lately. i like how it's turning out.

Of course one hundred card decks work. It's called EDH.

Also, I looked at your maybeboard and I think that Curse of BloodlettingMTG Card: Curse of Bloodletting isn't going to be worth using at all. It shares the same problem Urabrask the Hidden MTG Card: Urabrask the Hidden does with being a five-drop and the only reason I could see it working out is in a multiplayer game where your attacks are spread thin and you want to make the most of whatever damage you can (for example, one swing with a 1/1 Human token while the Curse is active and you have HellriderMTG Card: Hellrider on board is the same as hitting that player with four 1/1 Human tokens). However, that kind of trick is really only likely to work once and will make you a giant target for future games if you use this deck.

Well it's going in for 2HG because it will be playing next to an Izzet Gelectrode burn deck, which only contains pinging creatures, and a couple Niv-Mizzet, the FiremindMTG Card: Niv-Mizzet, the Fireminds. The Curse will double both our damage, so it's more worth it than Raid BombardmentMTG Card: Raid Bombardment, which only gets triggered by my board.

I dropped 2 lands and a FlingMTG Card: Fling to squeeze the Lightning BoltMTG Card: Lightning Bolts on the mainboard. Having 4 FlingMTG Card: Flings wasn't working out, I had it more than I wanted/needed. Don't really have any cards to replace for the sideboard, so I just bumped some from 3-ofs to 4-ofs so I had 15.

with all the humans you are making via tokens, I may try out Champion of the ParishMTG Card: Champion of the Parish instead of Hero of BladeholdMTG Card: Hero of Bladehold as I don't have any but have a full set of champs. Super cool concept, me likey. Also I have full playsets of Arid MesaMTG Card: Arid Mesa and Sacred FoundryMTG Card: Sacred Foundry from my boros landfall deck so I'll be using them
