Victim of Night might help you since it seems to lack removal.
i would also consider Pillar of Flame
to stop Deathrite Shaman
from ruining your grave play with the Vexing Devil
. id put at least 3 in the side board!
over all cool first scavenge deck! +1

Thanks for your advise! I already thought about adding those guys myself and also about more removal... But I couldn't find place in the mainboard so I added 3x Deathrite Shaman s and 2x Searing Spear to the sideboard to handle aggro decks...
Don't forget that Putrefy will be reprintet so it's a strong sideboard cards!
The only weakness in the mainboard seems to be Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch... she's a really strong card even if you don't unleash her she's a 3/3 first striker that makes your deck faster if you have the mana to scavenge something in your creatures. But in most cases she ended up as food for my Lotleth Troll ... But I think I need to playtest her for a while...
thank you :) It works surprisingly good :D

be careful. Putrefy is a great card, but it wont exile like Pillar of Flame . not only will that help blast out Deathrite Shaman , but Gravecrawler and Strangleroot Geist

hmm I think that is just speculation atm... cause I don't know how the new meta will look like when dgm is out... but at my shop in the current meta those cards don't see much play ... So if needed I'll find room for Pillar of Flame ;)

I think Dreadbore would also be an option... there are some playable removals out there but I don't really know which removal works out the best for this kind of deck... :S

Yea it depends if there are alot of planeswalkers in your meta or not. Also Tragic slip works well with Varolz's second ability but is very situation based.
Lastly maybe consider Rancor for trample just because if you have these giants you want them to bull thru not just be chump blocked by 1/1's for days.
Good deck :) Totally making one for myself

oh I think Tragic Slip is a nice idea... it also works very well with Vexing Devil if you decide to cast him... it can also deal with an early Champion of the Perish if you have some black mana open and is able to kill annoying indestructables like Predator Ooze or Tajic, Blade of the Legion.
And I'll surely try Rancor ... Lotleth Troll has trample on it's own but Experiment One for example would be stronger with Rancor
thank you :D tell me if you have another brilliant idea ;)

thought of using Legion Loyalist ? he's great to throw in before combat just to add that extra punch
April 18, 2013 1:36 p.m.
Hmm he forces me to be very aggressive... sometimes I just attack with an huge Lotleth Troll and keep another creature untapped as my defense. Legion Loyalist forces me to attack with at least 2 other creatures if I want his ability to trigger

Why run 4 of's of legendaries? Especially one with Regeneration, its a dead draw that could be made a 3 of so that you can run 4 of a more utility spell like Armed / Dangerous or one of your 2 drop hasters also why Putrefy sideboard and spear main. Sorry for being so long winded but Id make Deathrite Shaman main in place of Experiment One since experiment only scavenges for 1 and deathrite is that good.

I have to play a complete playset of Varolz, the Scar-Striped because he is very important for the deck. If I have more than one I can simply discard one with Lotleth Troll . Searing Spear is main because it's cheaper and I have the option to deal 3 damage right in my opponents face.
Also I really don't get your argument with Deathrite Shaman ... Why should I play him main? He also scavenges for 1 so it's the same as Experiment One ... The experiment is way more agressive because he easily becomes a 3/3 or a 4/4.

I think Desecration Demon would be good for both aggro and scavenge. Dreg Mangler can also be a nice addition. Scavenging Ooze can also get really big in this deck.

Add Death's Shadow. Turn 1 - play death's shadow and let it go to the graveyard. Turn 2 - play farseek. turn 3 - play Varolz and scavenge Death's Shadow onto Varolz for 13 +1/+1 counters.
