So one day I was looking at battle for zendikar , and said: "wow, look at the massive synergy here! You could build a competitive deck without using cards from other sets!" So I built a prototype of this deck, tested it a bit, and so far it seems completely broken and awesome! You don't need non-creature spells, because everything you are doing is miles above what everyone else is doing. You can even come back from board wipes because of Lumbering Falls and other cards that get value when things die. Also, all of your creatures can create massive board presence on their own. Honestly, try it out. You won't be disapointed
Questionable includes:
Tajuru Warcaller: an amazing card in this strategy, 1 will give your team a much needed buff, often sending insane amounts of damage at your opponent's face. It has synergy with Zulaport Cutthroat, and if you already have one on the board, it gives your team an unstoppable +4/+4 buff
Brood Monitor: while not exactly one of the best 6 drops in the format, it gives you some much needed board presence against more aggressive decks, and gets +4 attacking power with a card like ruination guide. In here for the synergy
Drowner of Hope: against more midrange you decks, sometimes their board will simply eat your board of small dudes. Here to push for lethal through Siege Rhinos
Eyeless Watcher: 3 mana for 3 creatures. Can ramp you into your 6 drops while triggering
Rot Shambler
, Zulaport Cutthroat, and
Catacomb Sifter
Tide drifter: good against aggro. Can allow your tokens to eat things occasionally, while being a good blocker immune to cards like
Exquisite Firecraft
When you look at this deck, it seems to be made mostly out of sub-par cards, but the synergy is unlike any other deck in the format, and that is how it wins.
If you want to make this deck budget, then the Drana, Liberator of Malakir, Hangarback Walkers, and land base would be the places to improve.
