I agree, definitely need to get those. Anything you see that needs working on?

Update Time
Ok i decided to smooth things out a bit, which unfortunately for me meant taking out some dragons. But otherwise, I think it plays a little better.
More recursion, Several Boardwipes, some loose ends snipped off, that sort of thing.Tell me what you all think.

I like it! but if you're going to have an Expedition Map, you need some basic lands. :P

I disagree. It says search for a land card, meaning any land. that's why its such an awesome EDH card

I see says the blind man lol it happens. Use it to grab command tower in your Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund deck
December 7, 2011 3:10 p.m.
31 land is quite a bit low for an edh deck and a lot of the cards in the deck are a bit overly conditional and very attention grabbing. Also some basic lands are very good to have in edh so people who pack a Ghost Quarter doesn't become a Strip Mine, the green join forces card doesn't become a everyone gets 7 lands on turn 3 except you, and so someone who decides to playtest this deck doesn't Reanimate a Solemn Simulacrum to help with the double colorless land and Temple of the False God mana screw the deck has had till turn 15...

Hmm, I've been thinking on adding more land and have some more cards ordered. There will definitely be some adjusting done. I'll agree that it does need more land. Like all my decks this is a WIP and will change. Was this one playtest or multiple? I never consistantly get mana screwed til turn 15.

love the idea of a scion reanimate edh i thought bout building 1 you defantily need Conspiracy in here change all to dragons and scio can search for any card you need also i saw this card the other day but i forget its name but its like 2 and a green maybe 3 and it produces 1 of every color mana but a dark ritual and a green land and a black land plus that open hand is a turn two scion drop good deck +1 check out my reanimator edh and tell me wat you think and +1 if you like it

Hmm, Conspiracy could be interesting indeed, depending if i'm not using the mana. I think having scion turn into Elvish Piper for a quick sneak in could be interesting.
As far as speeding up my general summon, I need to work on that. Dual lands would be the easiest (and most expensive) way to do it, but if there's a way to bring in Scion faster, do tell!

Quicksilver Amulet , Teneb, the Harvester , Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon , Vampiric Dragon and Numot, the Devastator are good options (maybe even Steel Hellkite )
teneb fits the recursion theme nicely
If you'd add some dual lands, you could fetch them with Eternal Dragon
Maybe use Path to Exile instead of Reprisal
Why are Vampire Nighthawk and Creepy Doll in here?

I like the idea of the amulet, but teneb never really did anything when I had him.
I do want a Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon . On the lookout for one of those, and I have a Steel Hellkite I can put in. He's good spot removal..
I could always use more land fetch, and the Eternal Dragon would give another body to the army.
Nighthawk and the doll are taking up space for utility creatures like Seedborn Muse and Stuffy Doll or another utility creature.

Kaalia of the Vast should go in. Also, from 7 years or rainbow EDH experience, bounce land and rainbow are not very good friends.

I'm getting that sort of thing more recently. I'll need a land but I'll havee to bounce or discard, then it comes in tapped and people like to target them alot. I'm hoping to upgrade them soon. Mana base is the main challenge for these 5 color setups. Thanks for the insight! I definitely like the idea of throwing Kaalia into the mix

So I run a scion reanimator deck that is still a wip, but what I've found is that in this type of deck, if you run creatures that have abilities that noncreature permanents have, it helps you save space for other cards. For instance, Graveborn Muse instead of phyrexian arena, Mulldrifter instead of a draw spell, sakura-tribe elder instead of a cultivate, etc (tho you probably want at least one of the cultivates in there. Ramp, mana-fixing, and card advantage are huge. And if you can put removal in creature form, then you gain card slots.
For example, Balefire Dragon instead of Earthquake . Also, put Quicksilver Dragon in the deck so you can protect your general from spot removal. And Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon plus Dragon Tyrant can be a one-shot kill. First make scion the tyrant an pump him 6 or whatever you need. Then activate again and make him te blight dragon and put haste on him for 10 flying infect.
I'm kind of rambling, but I put a on of ramp and draw/tutor in the deck because it's so important in my opinion.

Bogardan hellkite is great too, and Sarkhan the Mad with karrthus plus a bunch of living death's dragons kills two people at once, potentially.
June 1, 2012 5:45 p.m.
Oh sorry I forgot: Sneak Attack and card:Volrath's Stronghold are pretty much auto includes if you can afford them. I haven't been able to get them yet, but with enough creatures (maybe 30ish), Survival of the Fittest becomes awesome.
June 1, 2012 5:48 p.m.
Also: why is hour of reckoning in the deck? I'm unable to see it at the moment. And if you're looking for recursion, Life/Death is wonderful.
June 1, 2012 6:14 p.m.
Steel hellkite essentially replaces a wrath effect also plus it's easily recurrable in this deck.
June 1, 2012 6:16 p.m.
Oh and about the Beacon of Unrest issue: it's an awesome card for the deck and it's reusable and one of te more versatile recursion spells. I would absolutely keep it in if you want reanimation to be one of the main aspects of the deck.

Quite a bit of info you have there ameuser. I agree with the need of more utility creatures, and this is definitely a WIP. The vast majority of the suggestions I get would be in here if I had the cards, but they're on the way or on a buy list. It seems like in your deck you had a pretty good base as far as utility dragons, and I've been trying to move to more of those. I might actually throw in a Bogardan Hellkite and Steel Hellkite and see how that runs. Might put a little more 1v1 aggro into the deck. I am beginning to see the cards that don't get alot of use and those will get shut out pretty quick in favor of replacements,
Thanks for the advice. I'll keep updating the deck as I improve it. 5 color is a challenging task to take on but I love playing it, so I'm thinking about getting it as competitive as I can and running in tournaments. So aside from the slight novel I wrote, lets see how far I can get this thing!
