kilgore: Thanks for the comment!

Both Cultivate and Kodama's Reach require the use of basic lands, which this deck lacks.

Yes, the signets are my form of ramp in the deck. Being able to ramp with colorless mana and still receive colored mana from it is amazing. Getting Scion of the Ur-Dragon by turn 3-4 is a MUST! You need to establish board position as soon as possible in this deck.

Thran Dynamo and Gilded Lotus are both excellent cards! Still trying to make space for them, but so far, no luck.

MrAwesomeSocks hey thanks for the quick reply!

I also have a scion deck that leans more towards the dragon tribal aspect of deck building (it runs 28 creatures) . It's heavy with reanimation as well.

I am thinking about moving over to a more combo centric deck. It is of course a 5 colour deck. What I like about your combo choices is, they are still dragons!

What do you think of the popular Hermit Druid "combo"?

Having a deck with no basics, does red land hate ever shut your deck down? Cards like Blood Moon or Ruination

We can't build a deck for every situation in a format like commander of course. I can see how versitile the signets can be though.

I love my Scion of the Ur-Dragon deck. I wanted to make it Dragon tribal, but it was too slow to be effective. So I decided to go with Dragon based combos instead.

Hermit Druid is a powerful deck. I have my own deck and it's amazing. However, I decided to keep my Hermit Druid deck separate from my Scion of the Ur-Dragon deck simply because Hermit Druid doesn't fit in a Dragon themed deck. If you wanted to make a Hermit Druid deck, go check out Epochalyptik's deck 0% Basic. It's what I based mine on.

My answer to Blood Moon is my 10 signets. My lands can all be mountains, but my Signets will still give me the colors I need. My girlfriend likes to use Armageddon a lot whenever we play. I'm pretty sure I can survive a Ruination haha.

Hey. Sorry to flood the comments with my ramblings. But Last night before a game of edh I went out and picked up a few of the combo pieces you play with in the deck.

Wow! I had a lot of fun. Combo dragons, I wish I knew sooner.

Let me described my board state. I had Temur Ascendancy and Aggravated Assault in play. Along with scion and a reanimated Utvara Hellkite.

Things quickly got out of hand! That was a fast game.

Be sure to check out the new "Bring to Light" from BFZ -- absolutely fantastic in five color, and seems like it would do you wonders here.

Hello first and foremost I like the deck, I have no idea how many comment dumps have been done, but one of my favorite cards in my ur-dragon tribal deck is Reito Lantern so I can keep using specific dragons abilities through out the game.

You REALLY should add Dack's Duplicate in this deck...

It has synergy with the scalelord, but it's also ANY creature on the battlefield WITH HASTE !! for !!

I won a lot of Multiplayer games by copying the broken creatures on the battlefield (who said Avacyn, Angel of Hope ???). Or just by copying my other Dragons.

This card is sooo broken is so many ways...

flluid: Thanks for the comment and sorry for the late reply!

Reito Lantern is an okay card. Sometimes, I'd rather keep my Dragons in the graveyard. Reito Lantern is one of those decent cards that I can't seem to make space for. Who knows? Maybe it'll be in sometime in the future.

Marenkai: Dack's Duplicate is a great card! Especially when used with Enduring Scalelord haha! However, space is always an issue and I don't have anything I want to take out right now.

I am glad I hopped on here to see "Bring to Light" that card will be SICK in 5 color EDH. it makes a Scion deck even more of a menu... "hum what would I like to order up?"

The rulings say: "When Scion of the Ur-Dragon becomes a copy of another Dragon, it loses its copy ability for the rest of the turn", but I guess the stack gets around that. Just want to point that out.

Zer0w says... #13

of course it does... but you put any number of abilities on the stack and allow them to resolve in reverse order and sneak in other abilities that the dragons have in between the resolutions of scions "change" ability. for example you can change scion into Dragon Tyrant then into Moltensteel Dragon allow moltensteel to resolve and pump scion up, then allow tyrant to resolve for an 1 hit kill. OR if you have a card like Rise of the Dark Realms or Living Death in hand you can mill 4 or 5 dragons into your GY before your turn, then on your turn you can cast it for a massive effect.

I think with a deck for over 3 grand, one Forbidden Orchard wouldn't hurt at all.

October 14, 2015 1:03 p.m.

MorgsJ: Thanks for the comment!

Forbidden Orchard is a great card, especially in EDH. However, due to this deck being a primarily attacking deck, giving my opponents blockers is ill advised. Great suggestion though.

MrAwsomeSocks, what is your opinion on Bring to Light? For me so far, it can fetch me a tutor or a board wipe, and in some variants it can fetch for a resurrect spell. My take is that it is worth it for the easy Diabolic Tutor for 1 extra.

Prismatic Omen is great for color fixing, if you even need it with all these abur duals

anyone have any thoughts or experience on Spirit of Resistance?

October 23, 2015 4:01 p.m.

Zer0w says... #20

I really like the thought of it. but I fear it would put an even bigger target on scion. other then scion there really is not a good way of getting all 5 colors in permanents.

October 23, 2015 10:40 p.m.

Kinpa6Ansatsu: Thanks for the comment! Bring to Light is awesome! It's already in the deck, which I will be updating soon with my Post:BFZ update!

October 28, 2015 10:12 a.m.

K34: Thanks for the comment! Prismatic Omen is more of a card for budget decks. I have every ABUR dual, shockland, and fetch, making my mana base usually a non-issue.

October 28, 2015 10:18 a.m.

dooomsdae: Thanks for the comment! I'm not a big fan of Spirit of Resistance, considering the only time I'll have a creature of every color out is when Scion of the Ur-Dragon hits the battlefield. Furthermore, when I need to transform Scion, he becomes the color of the dragon I copy, losing the effect of Spirit of Resistance anyways.

Spirit of Resistance is great in other 5 color EDH decks, maybe other Scion decks even(especially reanimator Scion decks). For my deck, however, don't expect to have the effect for too long.

Protective Sphere is a better option.
